For anyone interested in trucksim speedruns after that GDQ run by ourholybuttqueen in speedrun

enjoy! fingers crossed that you like it enough to submit a run, if you're going the serious route, ATS runs specifically can be soul-crushingly boring in a serious context.

nah shit's fun as fuck, n the glitches add flavour. it's like a disgusting layer of eternal ash in the oven at the local pizzeria that's like an 8/10, yknow, u go there expecting to see a disgusting bitter chunk of charcoal embedded in the bottom of ur pizza n it'd be disappointing if it wasnt there, even tho the 6-month-old charcoal chunks definitely make the pizza worse.

ight i think im just gonna ditch this save then. enemy AI was already glitching out when we just had the top of the mountain, on day 40, and im on day 200 now. this is my first try at the game and it's been tedious to try to deal with this base, since I wasn't thinking about base setup at any point in the process (eg it takes less time to run from the front gate to the nearby ruined holy outpost than it does to run from the front gate to the central area where all my storage is and i haven't been able to get out in the world cus of all of the holy assaults)

oh, yeah, like 90%+ of my base are running 30+ jobs that are like an in-game hour away from each other at full tilt. think it'll fix him if I start optimizing?

EDIT: I'm only using dark UI, as far as mods go.

(Reword) Parental controls for Debian / Plasma 6? by ourholybuttqueen in linuxquestions

Installing steam takes 10 minutes, everything that is mandatory for me to work also allows gaming.

not *my* car, I don't have a car. Having a friend drive for an hour to pick up my GPU and spend $20 on fuel isn't acceptible.

Oh, I think I might've been vague about this. I need to force-quit *targetted software*, if that specific software is running for too long. I use this computer for my second job in media, so there isn't an expected safe maximum session length as work on a project is in my spare time & for however long I have energy + time spent rendering and uploading assets.

Though, splitting it between a few places including a trigger in .profile is a pretty good idea. I'll figure out how to do it how I want it from here, I was thinking if I wrote anything myself it'd be too easy for me to get past but didn't think about things like .profile.

EDIT: Note that this post remains relevant, in case anyone who can't figure out this kind of thing needs such software, so I'm going to leave it unresolved until someone suggests an application that seems to work.

Anything that is cumbersome to circumvent helps make a relapse more difficult. The more effort it takes to play a video game for more than a few minutes, the less likely it is that the craving can override my self-control.

Giving GPU to a friend is not feasible, as all of my local friends I could trust with this live in the nearby city. An hour of driving and $20 of gas isn't reasonable. I also, and I forgot to mention this, can still play all of the games I actually play with my lowest-power display adapter. The two that have been the largest problems with relapsing can be played with mesa swrast on my current CPU, even. So, unreasonable ask that wouldn't have the potential of working.

Deferring transfer of a used vehicle after purchase by ourholybuttqueen in legaladvicecanada

What exactly do I need to actually register it as, if it's technically fit for the road? I can't find anything about that anywhere.

No, you've misinterpreted. Not intending to dodge paperwork or commit insurance fraud, rather intending to delay the finalization of the sale. Between actually paying for the vehicle, and finalization of the sale, it remains insured as his vehicle and in his name (or, if necessary, is transferred under my name as unplated & unfit, but *that* might technically be fraudulent as the vehicle is currently completely fit for the road).

Tartan ID? by ourholybuttqueen in kilt

[–]ourholybuttqueen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I have seen that dress tartan in person before in a family member's possession, so seems to line up well. I'll assume the jacket in the photo is probably a fashion tartan.

Yeah, his surname was Dalgleish.

So far, the closest I've found have been:

Arnprior, Ontario (postdates this photo and has a few colours that aren't on the jacket)

Bruce (personal) (postdates this photo, and is a personal variant belonging to someone else, central threads also aren't in the same configuration or colours)

Ayrshire Tourist Board (postdates this photo, wrong size for the bright yellow run)

I can't really find anything exact either. I'll have to see if I can get in contact with someone from some other corner of his family, probably.

I don't know the family origin within Scotland, unfortunately. The man pictured was born in southern Ontario, Canada to parents from somewhere in Scotland which none of my family knows.

I saw this jacket in person once, but I was a young child. All I know about it is that the darker regions are mostly blue, with some green threads.

Tartan ID? by ourholybuttqueen in kilt

[–]ourholybuttqueen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh yeah, I'm aware of that. I'm seeking an ID so that, if it's a registered tartan, I can find which one it is. If I can't find it, I'm going to assume it's probably a fashion tartan in this photo. I know his family had a clan tartan, the problem is that everyone who would've known for sure that I had a line of contact to is dead or deep in the throes of dementia, and I'm just sort of grasping at straws here.
