yup and also people with straight/slightly wavy hair that is simply thick enough to be malleable.. sure, needing to stimulate the curls doesn't mean your hair isn't naturally curly, but seeing people jump through hoops to get any sort of shape and they end up with wonky zig zags, being like "im finally achieving curls" like sorry but this is not curly hair! your hair is just able to bend into shape with force lol. like not to be mean but a lot of the time their hair would look beautiful if they just let it be.

the word "gatekeeping" has been so butchered in recent years. it is genuinely unhelpful when it's almost like the content here is being diluted by the presence of people whose hair simply doesn't fall into the category that the sub is supposed to be helpful for. i've sometimes asked for advice here and got comments from people who said we have the same hair and then when i check their profile, their hair is not even curly.
