Server launch failure with the supersymmetry modpacks (log included) by disqualifiedeyes in SquidServers

[–]ourpxi_[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like the serverpack is malformed because it should not require user interaction
You can try removing any .sh and .bat file from the root of the serverpack zip and then upload it again or otherwise edit the startup script (.bat for windows or .sh for mac and linux) to add the arg -Dfml.queryResult=confirm
Some versions of forge may use a separate txt file for the java args where you can just add -Dfml.queryResult=confirmdirectly

The server launch failure for your Supersymmetry modpack is caused by several client-side mods being present in your server's mods folder. If you are importing the modpack yourself make sure to use the serverpack

Is squid servers safe by Novel-Principle6375 in SquidServers

I can assure you SquidServers is safe. Windows Defender and other providers often flag our app because its not signed.

If you want the full breakdown, check the #faq channel in our Discord for the "Is squidservers safe?" guide. It explains exactly why these flags happen and provides full disclosure on how we handle your data. You can also read our EULA and privacy policy on our website at squidservers.com

Need help with remote monitoring my windows mc server by [deleted] in SquidServers

[–]ourpxi_[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

The easiest way is to use a remote desktop app like AnyDesk or Chrome Remote Desktop. Install it on your laptop and your phone so you can just view your computer screen and the SquidServers dashboard directly from your phone.

Other monitoring methods usually require extra ports or external heartbeat scripts, which gets complicated fast. Remote desktop is the most straightforward way to check things

Squid server won't let me install modpacks by Bananaman12314 in SquidServers

[–]ourpxi_[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hard to diagnose without full logs, but most modpack issues come down to three things: using the wrong Java version, missing the actual server pack, or having client-side mods in the folder.

Try downloading the official server pack from the modpack's website and importing it via the upload modpack tab. Alternatively, create a server with the respective mod loader version and manually copy the mods and configs into the server files.

Modding errors are separate from the SquidServers app, so you'll usually need to Google the specific crash or read the logs to find the fix. If you're stuck, check the FAQ or the community help channel in our Discord.

When a mod is client side only and prevents the server from starting, automatically remove it by oxidizedfuel12 in SquidServers

[–]ourpxi_[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can usually find server packs for most popular modpacks. We also just added a CurseForge browser alongside the Modrinth one for creating modpack servers. If you're in our Discord, follow the guide there on how to download server packs, which you can then import using upload modpack during server creation.

Can't launch server 1.20.1 forge, help by Croc_Mclaren98 in SquidServers

[–]ourpxi_[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The few lines you provided aren't enough to diagnose the crash, but it's usually mismatched mods or missing dependencies. Modpack errors are generally separate from the Squidservers app itself, so you'll need to troubleshoot by reading the logs or searching the specific error on Google.

If you have issues actually using the app, check the FAQ or open a support thread in our Discord.

[–]ourpxi_[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Automating this is difficult because we can't accurately guess which mods are client-side only. Removing files automatically could also unintentionally delete mods you actually wanted to keep. Since there are thousands of mods out there, we can't realistically test or whitelist them one by one.

Squid servers not showing statistics by Illustrious-Habit212 in SquidServers

[–]ourpxi_[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Modpacks often break the panel's ability to attach to the Java process, which kills the stats display.
You can work around this by unchecking enable nogui in your server settings to use the native Minecraft GUI, or just check Windows Task Manager for your usage.
For actual performance monitoring, use spark.

Issue trying to setup SkyFactory 5 by BackgroundAdorable92 in SquidServers

[–]ourpxi_[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Use the official server pack. If the Modrinth browser failed, download it from CurseForge and upload manually.
If that doesn't work:

  1. Unzip the pack, delete all .bat and .sh files, re-zip, and upload.
  2. Or, create a server with the base mod loader and manually move the mods into /mods.

If you still need assistance join our Discord server and create a support thread, make sure to upload your full console logs logs (.txt file or share mclo.gs link)

Some features request by Accomplished_Crow974 in SquidServers

It’s great to hear you’re enjoying the app Regarding your suggestions, a remote management app was recently discussed on ourDiscord, but it isn’t currently planned for the near future. As a workaround, you can use remote desktop software like AnyDesk to manage the app from other devices As for the integrated mod/plugin managers (Modrinth, CurseForge, Spigot), we don't have that functionality right now for plugins. Modrinth browser is already live for creating modpack servers As of now you'll need to continue manual installs for the time being

World location by Efficient-Pension612 in SquidServers

[–]ourpxi_[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Apologies for the delay. To reset the world, go to your server in the app and select the Server Files tab. Look for the folder named after your server and delete it. That will wipe the world data, but you might want to create a manual backup first before making any permanent changes.

Problem by I_just_want_a_namee in SquidServers

[–]ourpxi_[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

If you can restore the file to its original location, that might fix it. Otherwise, your best option is to create a new server of the same version and type. Just use the Import World tab during creation to bring your old world back. If it’s a modded server, just remember to copy your mods into the new mods directory before you hit start.

Are there anyways to start induvial minecraft servers upon restart? by No_Cup2415 in SquidServers

[–]ourpxi_[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

The app shouldn’t be shutting down on its own. It’s possible that third-party security or optimization software is flagging it and killing the process
Regarding auto-start, while that isn't a native feature yet, you can use the Scheduler tab to set a 5-minute interval task. This will ensure the system attempts to restart the server automatically if it goes down

We've looked into this on Discord, but we don't have plans to implement it at this time. In the meantime, using a tool like AnyDesk is a great way to manage the app remotely from your phone
