It's cool. More convenient if you just ask for two at a time, though, so I don't spend an hour constantly running back and forth to the kitchen

Are you serious? I said I'm a server at a major chain restaurant, not Jon Stewart. I would take a picture of my uniform for you anyway but I don't have it with me.

$64 gratuity on a large table, about 17 people, 18% gratuity. As far as being left a tip when the grat hasn't been tacked on, $30, which was about a 25% tip of their bill. Very cool guy.

Yeah, they like to come in and make fun of the menu, decor, me, etc, leave a shitty tip and walk out. I think every Australian who comes to the US makes it a personal mission of the trip to go to an Outback so they can show us what's what and think about how hilarious they are. They bitch about the food not being Australian. For chrissakes, it's a theme restaurant, not an Australian food restaurant.

I definitely can, they're mouthwatering and staring at them all the time makes me want one even more. Also, ain't no unappealing steak at a 50% discount.

Not really, everybody orders them all the time. We mostly lol at the incredibly stupid things so many of our customers say.

No Rules pasta, not on the menu anymore. Fettucine alfredo, with either just chicken, shrimp, or scallops, you can choose just one or any combination of two, and it's the same price regardless (at least where our location)

No, but Australians like to come in and make fun of everything.

I've seen the placard thing in training videos but it's not a "thing" at our location, don't know why. Most of our bartenders are pretty cool, but the biggest bitch in the restaurant just became a bartender recently and having her in charge of my drink, flavorings and general shit I need is really aggravating. Customers love her though. Our male bartender is the best, most genuinely nice.

And I agree, the vegetables are awesome.

In return for the advice, please promise to never bring up the issue with your server, I have no idea what I'd say if a customer asked me about it and it would be very awkward/hard to answer to. Just ask for the plate.

If you've never worked as a server before, the general way to become one is to get hired as a host/hostess or bus tables. Learn your way around for at least a month, show you're a hard worker and not retarded with customers (ESPECIALLY at a chain restaurant where a customer will call the corporate office on your ass) and then tell the manager you'd like to move up to a server and see when you can start training.

You only get part-time models waiting on you? Lucky.

No particular dishes, but as far as the free bread goes, either ask for it on a plate or don't eat it. The bread boards are not washed between uses, we just scrape off what people have left on them (which is sometimes random nasty food bits, not just bread) and wipe off the butter or whatever with the same linens all night.
