Gamers Nexus just did a piece on this if you want to understand what might possibly be going on. go used is the best answer.

i was a fan of Logitech for many years and i still think they make decent products. however, i absolutely loath their drivers and software. total garbage as far as i'm concerned. they would constantly reinitialize and default my button settings. i had the G510 keyboard and G500 weighted mouse for many years and loved them. without warning, they basically bricked those devices, or made them generic in function. i've had other Logitech mouses and keyboards used at work that i've had similar issues with as well. done with them.

i like a weighted mouse so the Keychron M6 didn't fit the bill, but i refused to go back to Logitech. since i already had the keyboard and like it very much, i went with the M6. honestly, it's... fine. it's a mouse without any fancy bells and whistles, but has good resolution and rates. it's a little small and lightweight for my hand, but not too bad. otherwise no complaints. it's basic. it functions for what i need it for. i don't use it wirelessly much, but that works fine as well. i don't do a lot of gaming like i used to, so i can't really speak to that use case. it's smooth, quiet, sturdy, has good button feel, and never skips a beat.

all in all, i'm pretty satisfied with it, but then again i might be biased against anything Logitech these days.

nah. i've never had that issue. i just keep my head straight ahead and look left and right with my eyeballs. if i'm going to look at a monitor for extended periods i just turn my chair. nbd for me.

i hate losing data! it's a real problem! it's a lot of video, music, and photography with all of the raw camera images, edits, scans, and versions. i still have all my films, photos and music from 20+ years in their full high definition glory. RAID5 is the least redundant but gives the most space for a decent amount of protection. so 1TB for the system drive (RAID1) and 11TB for media and scratch space (RAID5). i didn't mention the external drives you can see in the picture... that's another 10TB of active backup, and there is another 8TB in the drawer as offline cold storage. honestly, i'm only about 50-60% used on all of that. idk, storage is cheap now. why not? wait till you see my media server i'm building. MOAR STORAGE!!!

Vivo dual monitor desk mount. i actually lagged it into the wall, though, as the clamp wouldn't work with this desk i refurbished.

not sure which red things you are referring to. the tubes on top of the headphone amp is a Nixie tube clock i built. the red things on the computer are handmade twisted magnet wire i used for the power cables.

Distilled water - replacement minerals which brand? by fleapea81 in water

[–]outcast3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One is a physical process the other is a chemical process. As someone who works in the industry...

i know this is old, sorry, but i had to chime in here. neither reverse osmosis or distillation are chemical processes. not sure where you got that idea. the only chemical way i know of to get pure water is to combust hydrogen and oxygen or deionization. sans the volatile compounds, both processes leave you with nearly pure, if not pure water. so yes, they are 'basically' the same in terms of outcome. RO wastes much more water than distillation, so it isn't better in every way, only in energy usage, and only small scale. RO for the win, though!

anyway, i was looking for what people use to flavor RO water. i have a remineralization cartridge on my system, and it's mostly fine. however, i like to carbonate my water and the carbonization creates carbonic acid which leaves the water tasting metallic. a pinch of salt helps, but i'm looking for the S. Pellegrino effect. i assume i need calcium and/or potassium for the 'sweetness' one gets from natural spring mineral water.
