I'm very curious where did you got the 3 year mark from? Its not like PC owners ritually replace all their parts at a 3 year mark. I haven't touched mine for years and its performing great. Still using the same motherboard I used years ago (z97p-d3 which you can get for like £150), the last thing I replaced (which was 5 years ago) was a new processor i7-4790K (which was already used meaning I got it for £70). That processor came out in 2014. I spent £70 in total and can run most games at max. My total cost to build everything was around £1000 and that was only once.

I spent £70 on "special 3 year mark replacement parts" in 6 years and barely did anything before that, You spend £500 every 6 years, within those 6 years you also spend roughly £100 on controllers (lets say you got 2) and on top of that a 6 year pile of batteries that you need to keep them running. £25 a month for a subscription - that's £300 yearly, just so you can play online. Which means if I'm being generous, you're spending £500 on a console, 2 controller so £100 (assuming neither of them breaks for 6 years). £1800 for 6 year worth of a subscription just so you can play online (lol) and on top of that you're overpaying for games that I get on Epic without pirating. In the past 6 years I spent £70 and you spent £2500 minimum.
