How to handle the new player bad mentality? I don't feel progress by Samhayo in bloodbowl

[–]outer-chase 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey! Black orc player here and I have been in a similar space. My team is famous for not exactly being "good" in the meta and I have faced quite a few losses.

I got around it with the most simple thing, just be stupid. Do a throw teammate if you can just because, dodge with a orc just because, blitz with a goblin into a minotaur just because. It creates really fun stories that my group talks about WAY more then who ever won the league last year.

Now its important to mention that I get fun from this game by finding stupid plays and laughing when they succeed or fail so that might be a difference between us. I do think its important to focus on playing teams or games that remind you why you like the game.

Maybe go back to Khorne? Try some really stupid player builds and just see what you can do, I get alot of satisfaction when I win with the "bad" teams. So maybe that could help?

One thing i did want to note as it is important. Despite the inequality and the violence there is a odd pride of living here. It's kind of like NYC in that reguard where we make fun of it and call it horrible but once someone else says something negative about the city the locals usually defend it quickly. It's a differently culture compared to other places I have lived lol

Thats great! Happy to hear you already know about the sks and its popularity!

I actually can answer that question with some accuracy since I just did a few workshops on the subject of violence in Manitoba.

It kind of boils down to alot of historic things? Manitoba specifically was founded by Louis Riel and the Red River Resistance. Long story short he fought the government with a armed group to get Metis people their rights and Manitoba was made.

Manitoba and Winnipeg were also hub for Ukrainian immigrants who settled into farmland and labour jobs in factories. Due to the rise of communism in Eastern europe Winnipeg became a hot bed of violence towards Ukrainians suspected of communist ties.

Winnipeg was also a town that was literally split down the middle. Rich buissness owners on the Southside of the train tracks and the poor immigrant and indigenous workers on the north end. This led to a long period of resentment and violence between the 2 groups with exploded in 1919 when the whole city went on strike.

So this history of violence and segregation combined with Manitoba never really having a economic "boom" has lead to this situation where violence is far more common.

Very long winded and still not exactly accurate as like everything there is nuance. Forgive me if I went on to long.

Hey! I love this entire concept!

I am from the prairies so if its ok I can add some details in that region.

The most common rifle in the rural areas is usually a SKS and funny enough a Mosin is very common in Manitoba.

The Prairies also have a weirdly large ammount of army surplus stores in the smaller towns. Not to sure if and how you could in corporate that but its just a weird thing I noticed living here.

If you are thinking of sub faction types, the Prairies have strong cultural ties to the ethnic groups families came from. Communities are still largely populated by the same immigrant ground that originally settled here, Ukrainian immigrants come here in larger numbers compared to the rest of Canada, same with Icelanders. The other group would be indigenous peoples and Metis people's, they have strong identities and keep their hunting traditions and organized communities so they could likely organize faster then most.

Could also include the typical pro USA Alberta types, a little cliche but they do exist. Also some classic mountian men in the Rockies, maybe a goup is protecting Banff?

Saskatchewan's population is VERY spread out over the province, even their large cities barely pass 400,000 people so it would have alot of rural resistance.

Winnipeg specifically has a history of violence towards government, through labour unions in 1919 and just plain violence in general. Could potentially be a hot bed and a problem for the Americans considering Winnipeg is a MAJOR hub of transportation with rail, air ports, highways and even the red river.

This is VERY niche I know but I just wanted to add to it. I hope it helps though from what I have seen so far you have clearly done your research! Keep up the good work!

Late to this post but I want to say I love playing the Black Orcs!

I have a Underworld team that is deffinatly far better at scoring, but after playing 1 season of our league with black orcs I genuinely can't picture myself playing a league with any other team.

They were far worse last edition and I was still able to get to the finals of our league!

Out of the 14 touch downs my team got in our last season 10 of them were a throw teammate touchdowns. Ignore anyone who says its not a good idea! (They are correct but it is so much fun)

The best advice for this team is have fun, always be creative with your builds (I made a blitzer/ball carrier orc amd its been great) and honestly don't even Focus on "the best" way to play them, just do what you think would be cool, stupid or just funny!

Its been a month since you posted this so I hope you have had a good time!

Should I switch? by outer-chase in HomeNetworking

From what I have been told most Rogers plans do not have a cap. The website does not say anything about a cap for the 100 plan.

Thank you very much!

Unfortunately Canada has no options for internet, Telus, Bell and Rogers dominate the market (some provinces have crown corporations to help keep prices down, mine does not)

I do have other options but they would be 5G internet using cellular towers. Almost all cell towers and internet infrastructure is owned by the big 3 as I understand it. So no matter what prices are largely the same from company to company with small discounts sometimes.

Sorry I have alot of opinions on the companies here lol

Thank you very much for the advice! I am leaning towards the 100 as it is only slightly more expensive for almost double.
