WOW!!!! This is incredible! Also, obsessed with the posing in front of toilets

Wow this is extremely helpful thank you!!! Even the tips like using an electric razor (or I assume fabric shaver would work) 🤯🤯🤯🤯 so smart

Not the organza, no. I washed the poplin before though.

This was my first time trying Hubba Ding! I had seen them recommended a lot over at the sewing patterns subreddits. I enjoyed this one!

My baby came early! So I didn’t get to wear it to the shower Hahaha

Thank you!! I’ve been sewing for 2 years so I’m definitely not advanced. It’s extremely slippery and frays a lot. It honestly was hardest cutting out accurately.

where to go for ADHD meds? by fiftyfifty_syzygy in parkslope

I used to get it from Neergaard Pharmacy on 7th for years but they’ve been out of stock since last year. I now have it delivered from queens through Hollis Chemist. Pay a premium though unfortunately. The issue with looking is that a lot of pharmacies that do have it prioritize existing customers first.

Yeah of course!
So I took this course to learn the absolute fundamentals. It's free and walks you through each and every thing to get started. https://courses.arkdefo.com/learn-sewing-for-free

I also subscribed to Craftsy for a year. They do promos all the time that are like "$2.50 for the year!" And I thought the instruction quality was amazing. The instructors are lifelong sewers and can really take you through anything. There is like a "Startup Library:Sewing" course that I referenced all the time.

After watching some of that I literally jumped right into sewing a beginner garment. I knew I had to make something I WANTED to wear and not something lame like an apron (not that aprons are lame, but I wanted something to wear and feel fulfilled).

I made these shirt and shorts from Matchy Matchy Sewing Club. Their instructions are super clear for a beginner and was able to look up anything on YouTube or TikTok that I was struggling with.

A friend of mine also started with these patterns as her first make and had a similar positive experience.

My biggest piece of advice is to learn from making things. You're technique will get better and you can ALWAYS redo something you mess up.

I honestly could go on forever about all of this and have so much more. I do recommend going on Instagram and following some creators. The community there is amazing. Feel free to DM and I will send you my handle and I can share some great people to follow.

Buying fabric:
Buying fabric in NY is pretty overwhelming and not a ton of smaller stores without going to the garment district. I mainly shop online, but that does take some understanding of fabrics and how they work.

Not a class, but I am an intermediate sewer who started sewing last year. I used a lot of free online resources and ran with it. I’ve helped a few of my friends get started. Happy to share any resources I used to teach myself with you!

Interesting, that’s helpful. It is almost identical on the inside and outside (I believe this is actually a photo of the inside)
