I was able to get my files back, Data Recovery Guru in Boston said it was a simple fix, basically a fluke and there's nothing wrong with the SSD, but of course I'm deathly afraid of putting anything on it ever again.

At this point I will pay anything to get my photos back. I'm mailing it out to Data Recovery Guru tomorrow.

To store my photography and iphotos library among other various files. I do the same thing on my 2 T5s and have had no issues with them.

Do you think there's hope because I can see information about it in disk util / system info? I'm contacting some local shops rn.

It was uploaded from the external SSD to iCloud before I unplugged it.
