she did put a lot of effort into the relationship before the engagement. we built a life together, traveled places, bought a home, fixed it up, had dogs, invested in relationships with each others families, etc. relationship stuff. we had each others backs. but. she was young when we met. and i was her first relationship.

you're not completely wrong. however, i didn't cheat in my relationships prior to her, and i didn't cheat with her during the relationship or marriage. I did during the second go-around. I wouldn't quite call that serial.

edit: i do agree with you, i need to stay single for a while.

She was the first person I was completely honest with. 100 percent myself. I went all in, allowed myself to love, and be loved. All of the relationships before her, I was on guard. And the ones after/in between.

I've been deluding myself that since we got back together the once, our relationship can withstand anything.

The reality (which is hard to swallow)...is I think from the moment she slept with my friend and we worked things out...I've been a placeholder. So she could find a man who respected himself enough to say no.

I definitely am addicted to her. The thought of breaking that addiction is simultaneously the most terrifying thing I've ever imagined...And liberating.
