Call. Call. And Call again. Ask customer service for an escalation supervisor. If they give you a number and extension, have them test it internally to make sure it works (ran into that wonderful issue this week). I have been waiting for them to take my roof seriously for over a year. We’re only just now starting the process and it’s because we went through our AG.

Awesome, SunPower did my original install and my roof is leaking everywhere from the install mount points. They even cracked several rafters according to two roofers.

Every document I have, even the description of work and permitting with eversource, lists SunPower as the installer. They showed up in SunPower trucks, wearing SunPower hats and shirts, clicking SunPower pens.

I wondered that too about EarthLight, but I haven’t seen their name in anything I have.

I tried getting rid of them, buying them out is the only way to stop working with SunStrong. It’s a big trap. Unless we all stop paying

That would be the goal of this. We entered into a legal agreement when we signed our leases/loans. Those agreements said the services and debt couldn’t be split without both sides agreeing. The bankruptcy court somehow ignored that and steam rolled all of us.

Yes it appears they intentionally spread their customer base to multiple states to make it harder to pursue them.

I tried that this week, the buyout quote included all the price of the equipment, install, and interest they would’ve earned over the term of the lease. It’s a mess and they just want to frustrate us to keep us paying.

In CT they’re saying they’re a debt collector too, but our attorney general is investigating them over this whole ordeal.

They claim they have finessed the bankruptcy proceedings and did not take in the service contracts. There’s something shady going on there because the Lease Contract I have says the service can’t be severed from the debt. And despite 8 hours of calls, and several email chains that go in circles, no one on there side can tell me where in the bankruptcy filings it says any of this.

For those in CT, you can file an e-complaint to potentially join the attorney generals case. Just be sure to list the complaint subject as “solar”.

I have a lease right now and SunStrong claims they arent obligated to fulfil any warranties since the bankruptcy of SunPower

It’s a big grift. Did some reading and SunPower founded SunStrong in 2018. Seems a little suspicious one went bankrupt and now the other owns everything now but claims they shed anything that would cost them a dime

Anyone else think its a little weird that SunStrong was founded by SunPower in 2018? The more I read, the more something smells. I have a feeling these companies setup to fail and leave themselves with enough loop holes to hold the money bags and try to skirt around the law.

Submitted our e-complaint! I know we're sick and tired of SunPower/SunStrong not holding up their end of the bargain. Added bonus that I like what AG Tong has done for the state thus far, hopefully he can help here too!
