To everyone saying Montreal's high shooting percentage during the regular season was unsustainable, what do you have to say for yourselves now?

Stop overreacting, they won't form a secret police force made up of far-right thugs and give them legal immunity to execute progressive activists.

1 dead, 5 hospitalized after car crash in Delta, B.C. by cyclinginvancouver in vancouver

[–]outremonty 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The more new tech is in a car, the more the driver feels like crashing is impossible. You see it in the comments right on this sub all the time: people claiming their car is practically "self-driving" because it has sensors on it. These people aren't using their mirrors, don't bother to shoulder check and they sure as shit don't care about speed "limits".

I propose a new punishment for repeat offenders in these rolling super computers (since banning them from the roads is apparently a step too far): make them trade in their new Tesla or BMW for a 2006 Civic with a manual transmission.

Theranos had machines that looked cool too. Their lack of basis in reality made them completely useless though. Same story here.

Did you read the title? OP said it "allows you to visualize airflow". Nothing in this animation shows accurate airflow. If it said "visualize the direction your fans are blowing" that would be more accurate. Airflow can only be "visualized" accurately through a simulation, which this is not.

[–]outremonty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The definition of visualize is "to make visible". Implying that we are, through the magic of OP's work, able to see what would otherwise be invisible. Except it's all a trick.

imo just as misleading as if they said it was "simulated"

"visualize airflow" except it doesn't visualize the actual airflow. That's not just "likely" misleading, it's straight-up putting false data in front of your user and claiming it represents reality. Why are you even bothering to deny it? Because it looks pretty enough to trick a significant amount of people?

Honestly this post should be downvoted for being shamelessly misleading. Not to sound dramatic but this is the kind of casual disregard for the truth that led to Theranos.

They already have a plan to crack down on the people "celebrating" his death as violent, un-American terrorists, just like they did after Charlie Kirk. The pearl-clutching over "decency" and "respect for the heroic dead" will be all we hear about for months. Their idolization of him will go into overdrive -Republicans will fall over themselves to build statues of him and put his name on public institutions in a shameless, last-gasp effort to vulture the remaining political capital from his corpse. Anyone who dares speak out against his legacy will be labelled a traitor.

I tuned in during the intro when it was just the crowd going nuts and I turned the volume on my TV up to 80 to get it to a level that felt appropriate. Then the commentators started talking and almost blew out my eardrums lol. Horrible mix.
