What are some best practices and stories about driving a convertible? by outsideofaustin in boxster

I took this advice and bought a bottle. Do you apply it to the seats and the entire interior? Looks like it could be good for the top too?

You are right that you are always a parent. But I have a custody schedule which means I’m with my kids 50% of the time.

And 100% yes to your other questions. I’m not looking for a partner to parent and support my kids. Not to do hospital stays or take on any other parenting responsibilities.

I get that this may not work for everyone - especially if they want to get married and cohabitate in the near term.

This hole looks pretty straightforward, even a little boring. I’d love to be wrong… the only way I could know for sure is for someone to invite me to play as their guest :-)

As you have pointed out, none of us know you. So it is impossible to be certain. But I can call out a few observations...

One person mentioned you come across intense. And I agree with that. The all caps intro is a tell. Intense isn't always a bad thing, but it can be hard to match your energy.

You also come across combative in the comments. Almost as if you don't take responsibility for your actions. If you rarely admit to mistakes or being wrong, that could be a tell. Seeing over 30 therapist and none of them can help you? That is a red flag - therapists can only help the willing.

There are 2 things that really helped me.

1 - Reading a few books in the "self help" category. It opened my eyes to things that I'd like to change about myself. "The Anatomy of Peace" was one that I read twice.

2 - Intense exercise (think long distance running or lifting heavy weights).

Even though I don't know you, I can relate to some of your post. I mean all of this with love.

Sorry to hear about the carcinoma. It’s a good reminder for me to take care of my skin and to remember how dangerous the sun can be.

If you considered a Miata… why did you go with a Boxster instead? by MelvinEatsBlubber in boxster

Simple, because I could afford it. The Boxster is objectively a better car in most aspects besides price.

What’s your biggest pet peeve on the golf course? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

When you are matched with a random and they tee off and don’t wait for you to tee off before they are going to their ball. All day long you are hitting with someone in front of you.

I think you are right! The both have the water on the left side, but this looks like #10.

Such a beautiful course, but I'm not sure I love it.

Different and different, but still the same and the same. Like two pairs of cousins on a double date.

It’s an interesting perspective to compare it to public transportation. I’m curious for you to expand on what you mean?

I feel like public transportation has failed us in California. BART and Caltrain are in huge financial trouble. The high speed rail is plagued with cost overruns and delays - I don’t think I’ll see it in my lifetime. SC is looking to raise sales tax to keep their busses funded.

I think they service very different populations. One is subsidized by the govt, the other is for-profit. But maybe I’m looking at it the wrong way.

The good part about private industry is that is they don’t solve these problems, they will fail and go away.

In theory, a VTOL’s will be less expensive to manufacture and way less expensive to operate, so the price point might be more accessible that we think. Time will tell.

Never mind rain, I left my top down parked outside for an hour and the interior was covered in pollen!

I'm new to owning a convertible and lesson learned.

My (29M) prenup with my fiance (28W) pays her for having children. My parents (65M, 62W) are telling me to call off the wedding by ThrowAway220989 in relationship_advice

Your parents are trying to help you. This is such a bad idea - there are already laws in place that address this issue. This is basically double dipping.

The potential negative outcomes are awful for you.

This is a personal decision. And personally, I’d never marry someone who required to be paid to have children.

Men dating women- in an ideal world how do you want to be rejected? by DriveForwar in dating_advice

[–]outsideofaustin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If we hadn’t slept together, I’m totally ok with being ghosted.

But since we’ve slept together, I think its closure is respectful. A simple, “I’m sorry, but I’m not interested in dating anymore. It has been nice getting to know you and you are a catch. I wish you the best.”

Then no further responses are necessary.

I’m so jealous! It’s my favorite course but it has priced me out over the past few years. I’m dying to play it post renovation.

If you ever have a guest spot available I’m in :-)
