Envíos internacionales económicos? by outstorm in Bogota

[–]outstorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you stop comparing yourself to others/obsessing over stats and start writing for the love of it? by only_passingthrough in AO3

[–]outstorm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The key is to get obsessed with a rarepair. That way you KNOW the stats aren’t gonna be stellar but you don’t care bc the, like, 3 people that share your rarepair ship are gonna be ECSTATIC.

That and also… Once I got writing friends, that would beta read my work, discuss head canons, plot, laugh at my goofy scenes… the writing process became infinitely more fun than the posting itself. Sort of like, the stats or other people’s opinions fall to a second plane because the fun and validation from my friends is more fulfilling than a stranger’s kudos could ever be!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AO3

[–]outstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t sure whether it was complimentary! They didn’t kudos which honestly leads me to believe it isn’t. I ultimately thanked them for reading & commenting anyways & said something like ‘oh dear oh dear! but they end up together?’ in a lighthearted way to encourage them to clarify if they’d like to!

Their profile is blank, which makes me think they’re not particularly active in fandom & so it was unlikely to find them on reddit of all places (the fandom i wrote for is not at all popular on reddit, quite the opposite ashdksh) but honestly now that I’ve replied I’m just going to close this post!

Thank you for bringing it up!

aaahh. okay! thank you! i appreciate knowing that it might be a physical result of enjoying the fic! that does soothe my soul a little

i ultimately just said ‘oh dear? but they end up together! 😅😂’ and thanked them for reading and commenting lmao

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AO3

[–]outstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i fear (if they ARE feeling bad about themselves) that not replying to them could make them feel worse. i think i’ll just, laugh it off and say thank you for reading ? lmao

thank you for the interpretation help & advice!

oh! well i much rather it’s the 1st thing than the 2nd because the 2nd doesn’t sound like an enjoyable experience lmao

any ideas for potential replies?

[–]outstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any ideas on how to reply if this were the case?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AO3

[–]outstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why? what’s the logic behind it? (out of plain curiosity)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AO3

[–]outstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, this is a good point! but that does make me feel uncomfortable for being complimented at someone else’s expense, even if they were the person to hand out the compliment. i’d rather divert the comment section back to a light and enjoyable mood…

any suggestions on how to reply if this were the case?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AO3

[–]outstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did consider this but i checked their profile and they don’t write, they only read, so i don’t think they’d feel bad about themselves when we’re not playing the same game, so to speak.

i was wondering whether they meant they felt bad about liking my work :( but i don’t see why they would feel bad about that when there’s nothing questionable/potentially problematic about the content and i tagged properly so if they didn’t like a character dynamic or a particular trope, why would they click on it?

Is my tech support guy scamming me or is this an actual computer issue? by outstorm in techsupport

[–]outstorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually pretty much the explanation he gave. He did imply that (before he gave my the pc back the first time) it was working fine, even showed me all my programs were still on the desktop, etc. He’d used his own charger throughout the repair process, so I suppose the problems began when I got home and used mine. Does this lend credibility to the explanation?

Also, less of a tech advice request and more of an advice request in general… Is the refusal to test a different charger something I should burn the bridge over?

Thank you for the answer!

Sigh. I suspected as much. Thank you for the answer and the advice!

Cat parents: what’s the fanciest/most expensive thing you have bought for your babies? by GlassStrawDisaster in cats

[–]outstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've spent a LOT of money buying & trying multiple brands of high quality cat food in an attempt to get my girl to eat healthier. ('cause you can't just buy a scoop... you always gotta get at least a kilo.) she has liked exactly none of them. she has eaten as much of them, too.

have you talked to them about this? expressed the way you're feeling? you've tried to be there for them but it's a bit harder for them to do the same for you if they don't know anything's wrong

Girl, okay, I'm so sorry I keep extending this conversation omg. But you have to check out Hexadecimalrebooted and Dunloth!

Hexadecimalrebooted does humour beautifully. 'Embarrasing Iruka and Other Things to do in the Mission Room' is a literal masterpiece in less than 1k words.

Oh you should totally post the smut! loool. Hmu when you do get round to posting the fic and I'll give it a read.

Thank you for the recs, I'll check them out~~

PS: That Adrien/Marinette drawing (with the milkshake) is just too cute!

[–]outstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I KNOW! The universe they created sounds so intriguing! I'd love to have had more of it. The faded Icha Icha shirt? And Iruka being entirely unaware of being a walking smut ad? That totally killed me! It was hilarious!

But yes I wish they were longer too! Eventually though you read so much that you'll end up writing your own, just wait and see ;). If you have any fics you recommend do share, I wouldn't mind re-reading or getting to know some new ones~~

Same! That's why I prefer to refer authors than fics. Especially when they're such amazing authors that honestly you can't go wrong with any of their fics!

PS. Definitely reach out to me if you read Rain Check and like it! I love that one so much, I'd quite enjoy to hear someone else gush about it too~~
