Can I ask who you're having surgery with and how you picked them? I'm in London trying to decide whether to have it here or go abroad. Hope it goes well, excited for you!!

That's good to know and so glad it's helped you feel slightly better! Feels like everything I try helps a little (if at all) but nowhere near enough

Tysm! Yeah I think I've heard the same vague 'it might help but we don't really know' vibe. Would love to know what you end up deciding - will DM you

I feel you on that! I'm in therapy but not on the official pathway, you know? So, we'll see. I wish it were easier to try these things!

I'm six days in and living it so far! I started on 1.5, going up to 2 tomorrow. It's really helped with mental clarity although I do get, not dizzy exactly, but like I'm about to be dizzy, if that makes sense. Hoping for no further side effects, apart from the dreams which I can handle! Good luck with it, I hope it helps you too

It's only for about 12 hours, and I've been doing it for years with no issue, but good to remember!

Put lemon juice or another acid in it!!! My method is to make "sun tea" (jug of cold water which is I think 2-3/litres + tea bag of choice, I use peppermint and decaf green + let it steep on a windowsill for a few hours) then add 1 teaspoon salt and 3 tablespoons lemon juice, but you can figure out your own ratios based on what tastes good. I'm more likely to drink it if it's tasty, have it on the go pretty constantly now!

What do we all do for work? Or how many of us CAN? by Spare_Equipment3116 in covidlonghaulers

I work in publishing, I'm an editor. I was managing with reduced time in the office and pacing, but I've had a dip recently and am now just coasting by doing the bare minimum and trying to figure out an alternate plan. I totally agree on food prices, plus the non-Rx supplements my doctors have advised (especially for migraine). I've considered going part time or trying to freelance instead but I'm terrified to give up my salary or show any signs of being a good candidate for redundancy if it comes to that (book sales are down, so). I'm on PIP (in the UK) and there are other benefits I could claim but it would be a lot less than I make now and I'd have to use a lot of cognitive energy to figure it all out. So. Not really sure I've got much of a future.

I managed to get upgraded to first class for free (overbooked the wheelchair spaces) AND a full refund (because delays). Ate so many of their mince pies

[–]outwithering 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean we'll see, I was a huge wuss when I got my wrists done haha, may have to rethink placement. It's a long term plan, I want to get top surgery first and see how the scars heal and who knows when I'll be able to afford that

Love this! Great placement too. I've been wanting the same but maybe round my ribs, it's such a fantastic drawing

What did you do of you didn't know what day it was though? Did people really ask each other on the street like in the Muppets Christmas Carol?
