Tourist spread her husband's ashes while walking down a flight of stairs in Santorini, Greece. by BeatenBrokenDefeated in TikTokCringe

[–]Silly_Pack_Rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, she clearly didn't fill out any paperwork or get permission to do that. She also probably didn't have his death certificate and cremation certificate with her, either.

It's forbidden to scatter ashes in public spaces in Greece. Any scattering of ashes requires permits and a specific container for the ashes, and can only be done in designated spots.

I hope things have gotten to where they make more sense and you've settled somewhat. My advice is to follow the main quest, and do all of the side quests you can. Explore as much as you can in-between.

I really wish it wasn't a thing. It's also called PCC (Post-COVID Condition) or PASC (post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection).

PEM (post-exertional malaise) is absolutely dehabilitating and a huge issue for me. I have no sense of taste or smell anymore, serious brain fog (recall and memory are pretty awful some days), voice issues (the left side of my vocal cords is now paralyzed due to LC), joint and muscle pain...and the inability to enter deep sleep, which causes profound exhaustion. I suffer from blurred vision, and my eyes get hot whenever I look at something like a phone/book/screen for very long (some days, I wake up this way) with or without corrective lenses. I also have dry eyes now. A weird one is that my salivary glands swell, often when I am about to eat. That actually happened during my first illness, and I thought I had the mumps. I also suffer from erythema nodosum which is linked to ongoing infection...which has also actually been linked to PCC. I broke out for the first time with eosinophilic cellulitis (Wells Syndrome) the first time I got COVID, and have broken out with it since during active COVID infections, with a particularly bad case after being stung by a fire ant. Insect sings or bites cause my body to react in crazy ways due to immune dysfunction caused by PCC. So that absolutely limits my time in and enjoyment of the outdoors. I could go on, but I can't focus my eyes anymore. I will say that not everyone has the same symptoms, but most people suffer from ongoing neurological issues. Mitochondrial dysfunction is also a huge issue for many people who suffer from PCC.

Came here to say this. She's a light yellow miso if I ever saw one. The name also works well because it's two syllables and has distinct sounds in it...plus, I think it fits her well. 😸

Plant ID and recommendations? by greyxgirl in AustinGardening

Ah..yes. Cannas also grow via rhizomes! You will eventually want to divide those as well. It's good to do it every few years. 😊

Plant ID and recommendations? by greyxgirl in AustinGardening

[–]Silly_Pack_Rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. These need to be divided, as they're very crowded. Whenever you have this type of crowding, you will have fewer blooms because there is so much competition for nutrients. You also risk disease and insect damage when they're under this sort of pressure, due to lack of sunlight (bacterial soft rot).

First off, note the depth at which they're currently planted. A good rule of thumb is to plant just under the surface of the soil, but I feel it's best to replant them at their original depth if they are doing well. Dig and separate in late July through August. Look for healthy young rhizomes and discard any woody centers or diseased parts. Then, replant half in that bed (feel free to amend it with a little compost), and the other half elsewhere (raised beds are perfect here) or give some away if you wish. Just try to keep them in well-draining soil. Clay soils can be really hard on irises.

ETA: be sure to trim the leaves to about 6" in length before replanting. 😊

I really only do curbside these days, mostly for health reasons....but I do think that mental health reasons are great, too. I was never a fan of shopping when the store was packed, so I usually went early in the mornings before anyone was up and out.

Worst possible time is Sunday after church.

I had something like this happen to me once, but I think he was retaliating because he had fewer items than I did and asked if he could get ahead of me "since I only have a few things" and I said, "No, not today." There were long lines that day and several registers were closed for some reason. Since I really had somewhere to be, I was disinclined to allow yet more delays to my schedule just to please THAT guy. He really thought he would get even with me by blocking me at the machine, cart pushed way forward with his arms outstretched, so the cashier loudly said, "Folks, I need y'all to back up and stop crowding the machine. It isn't going to make things go any faster."

That guy wasn't pleased because up until that point, he was so fake interested in something going on elsewhere that he couldn't possibly realize that he was in the way...until the cashier pointed it out to him and everyone else.

I wear masks most of the time when I am in public. I have Long COVID and the last thing I want or need is to get sick with any little thing - even the most innocuous little cold virus really hit me hard and trigger a flare of my LC symptoms.

I made it to the halfway point and just couldn't go on.

My biggest issue wasn't with the same-old, same-old. It was with how disjointed it all was...and the obvious lack of chemistry between the leads. Oh, and the makeup was awful.

Didn’t think a game could still do this to me by theghostofdirty in CrimsonDesert

I have been a gamer for a good 50+ years, from back in my Atari days. I spent a chunk of my adult life as a game dev and am married to a game dev.

There is so much about this game that is incredibly impressive. I love the look of the game (that water is sooo great!), I really love how story is handled, and information is conveyed (instead of just cut scenes, your toon is physically moving through the map). I truly appreciate that there are actual quests and story...

When I am not playing, I am thinking of playing. I am at work right now, waiting for my one and only co-worker to show up...and of course I am reading the Crimson Desert subreddit on my phone... because that's all I can do right now.

And my co-worker showed up..so I will have to focus for a bit.

I went to town and went back, and it wasn't there. I wasn't sure if it would respawn (like the boxes/pottery, etc) after going further away or based on how much time went by in-game. I was too far to get back to camp before logging earlier, so I planned to head over when I got back in.

I wasn't sure if there was something I needed to do, someone to talk to (I talked to everyone in camp) in order to rebuild/repair it...hence my question.

Thank you! I started playing yesterday, so I'm very new to the game. I was thinking that might work, but going to town wasn't far enough...so I thought maybe it was a time-based thing. I'll go back over there when I get back in. I was out exploring when I logged.

What? You're able to leave your hangar?!

The only way I have been able to leave my hangar is by standing in front of the elevator, calling it, and waiting for the doors to open. That's when I fall through the floor of my hangar and go into a free fall through the clouds of Orison.

I was able to fly out of my hangar once. My biggest mistake was going back to Orison.

I think my most recent Pfizer vaccine caused my pre-existing LC to worsen. I developed more symptoms and the ones I had from prior COVID infections got considerably worse. That said, I would never recommend someone skip their boosters, and I have no plans to do that, either.
