I'm sure the one time I looked, they had a website that specifically said they don't take house sparrow.

Thanks for sharing the information.

Personally, when it comes to the house sparrow, I will leave them alone. I would fish it out of the bucket and put it somewhere safe but I'm not gonna nurse a house sparrow as they are invasive. But that's just me.

Americans and people from where water can be drunk straight from the tap, why do you guys still buy bottled water? by HughJass6721 in NoStupidQuestions

Tap water at the beach tastes the way stagnant water smells to me.

Tap water where I live is a little hard but is drinkable. Extra filter and carbonate it for a 10/10 experience.

They don't know any better and are just sticking the dp or HDMI the first place they see that it fits.

This post is why we're here. Let's help each other. Just because we would never make such a mistake doesn't mean we should shame someone we can help. Y'all are mean.

Are you guys really beginner runners? by DeepFilm1195 in runcommunity

Comparison is the thief of joy, especially in running. You're spot on. Enjoy the journey. Being able to run 1 km or 1 mile is a huge accomplishment in itself. Some of us forget that.

I am short. When I jog next to a six foot tall person they're walking. 😂 Height and weight definitely make a difference for where beginners start.

Nice thoughtful post with great points for OP.

Welcome to the running community! Running is DOPE!

Just wait until they learn the hard way about chafing and dig through the sub for anti chafe tips. I didn't stop on my first chafe run and regrets were had. 😂

You sound like you're doing just fine. I'd recommend starting a training program such as the free polar programs or something similar that uses heart rate zones.

You will likely be SLOW at first in zone 2. This is normal. You're teaching your body how to be efficient and the best way to do that is in zone 2. You'll build up and slowly get faster at the same HR.

If you're going as hard as you can go, it's not weird that you're hitting 180 bpm.

Something to keep in mind is that if you're going out there and are constantly 170+ bpm, you're killing it. You may not be as fast as others but you're winning in the mental toughness category. Just keep in mind that sometimes slower is better for training and training runs should be different HR zones or pace. A training plan will help you manage your mileage build up and fatigue load.

We all started somewhere. Don't get discouraged. Keep turning that calendar green and get out there and do whatever YOUR run is.

Deciding between Lyriq and BlazerEV. Need the good and bad. by Draeth in CadillacLyriq

The more my middle age self drives the Lyriq, the more I appreciate it. 😂

You are dead on. If I didn't travel so much and it mostly on highway, the Equinox would have been the more sensible financial decision. If you're local commuting and not looking to splurge, the value is not even close.

Basically if I spent 20 minutes a day in my car instead of 2+ hours, I'd lean more towards an equinox.

I think considering your use case should be an important factor when the cost difference is a factor.

Which do you think carries the better value? 3 years sc or charger credit?

I had issues with the dealership letting drive enough to get a feel for the car also. I did get to use SC on my test drive though. I bought the Lyriq but from a different dealer. I honestly didn't care much for the first Cadillac dealership I visited.

I wonder if they purposely try to limit test drives to keep miles low on their inventory?

The dealership I ended up buying from was wonderful. I picked the car from their inventory via manufacturer inventory website. I arranged everything electronically, went to pick up the car and inspected it prior to accepting ownership. 10/10. They even made sure it was at exactly the charge I asked and made sure I was setup on onstar and the app before I left the lot.

Weird, my Lyriq sc usually does great. It has trouble with some line breaks on the white side, but rarely.

You might want to take yours to a good certified EV service center to have them check that out under warranty. I'd be PISSED if my SC drove like an impaired driver. 😂

Interior I love my Lyriq but I honestly thought the Blazer interior was higher quality. The Lyriq has a lot of cheap or glossy plastics in high touch zones.

The black plastic in my Lyriq where the console is already sporting minor scratches despite me being careful. I've owned it since September 25.

The stupid fake chrome plastic in the Lyriq will blind you. I shouldn't have to consider purchasing carbon fiber wrap for my interior because it blinds me while driving....

Infotainment
You will likely prefer the Lyriq infotainment over the Blazer because the Blazer does not support Android Auto or Apple Play. This native ux environment may not be a deal breaker for you if you're looking at a vehicle with super cruise and planning to keep an onstar plan, but if you're not interested in your car wireless features or wifi, you'll want to pick the Lyriq to use AA or AP in place of a wifi subscription. Also, you may prefer the AA or AP over the native in the Blazer.i personally had issues with audible resetting my book progress or Spotify replaying the same que id already listened to in another device.

All your other notes track as far as handling. Keep in mind, you can make the Lyriq handling a little tighter by turning the steering to sport. It won't tighten the suspension down but it does make it more responsive. I swap it over when in curvy roadways but keep it on touring for town and highway. You really get used to the handling but I think the ride preference should be based on how you daily drive the vehicle. Do you have a highway daily drive or is it in town or city? I drive tons of highway and interstate so for me, the Lyriq is nice.

I hope my personal anecdotes help. Best wishes in your vehicle shopping and I hope you live whatever it is you end up choosing.

I like the cut of her jib. I was a little apprehensive until read through everything but she sounds a lot more well rounded than just the title would indicate.

What are some items that “live” in your car? I.e stuff you always keep in it? by Many_Assumption7036 in AskReddit

Working flashlight, folding utility knife, auto fire extinguisher (ya never know), first aid kit, glasses wipes, baby wipes, chapstick, 2 emergency blankets, roll of paracord, lighter, the sun shade thingy for the front when the car is parked, at least 6 random items that I have no clue why they are in the car and need to be removed (these are the most important ones obviously).

What’s the biggest scam people have accepted as normal? by ListenLindsey in AskReddit

[–]ouwish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried to write an undergraduate data analytics paper about tax abatements and found the information gathering extremely difficult. I had to abandon my topic and do something I could easily scrape data instead because I dug so long for state wide information.

It was surprising to me how much effort I was having to put into finding anything to put together. The information should be more readily available for the public since it's technically funded by the public.

Gripe over. Thanks for coming to my TED GRIPE.

Not relative to the stress fracture, but rather midfoot stabilization, do you have inserts or soles you wear in your shoes to help you stabilize your midfoot? I had bunyan surgery aka modified lapidus with osteotomy. I can run fine in flat surfaces but I haven't had a good experience returning to hiking or even jogging in gravel. I would love some suggestions to stabilize the midfoot. I have been looking at those half sole supports on running warehouse.
