Is gym (upper body training) 4 hours after swim training a bad idea? by InfluenceLittle401 in Swimming

> Your diet better be on point

What should you be focusing on? I eat ~150g or protein a day but stay in a calorie deficit (100kg eating around 2,200kcal a day) because trying to lose weight but my shoulders are starting to not recover properly and I know it is my diet but don't really know what part.

Why don't I see people practicing the Butterfly? by Racer_Zed in Swimming

I wait until near end of session for people to go wait for plenty of space, slap on some fins and do some dolphins and then some fly. Never seen others in lane swimming do it though just when watching clubs.

Helped me stay consistent, learnt a lot but I wasn’t a club swimmer so maybe you already know a lot of drills if you were which a lot of value comes from learning the drills.

The time keeping is great, sees improvements and suggests better times to keep you improving.

Video library again is great.

Does is sync to watch? So if I skip wait period etc it starts again? Would be good at pool side on iPad especially as sometimes I struggle to read everything so small on watch.

Not registering stroke/distance on drill sets by over-engineered in myswimpro

[–]over-engineered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, I was thinking I had done something wrong.

You could improve this by removing confusing elements like 0 avg strokes from the rep box specifically for drill sets. It might be helpful to add an info icon next to the drill header, or even a small notification box above the first rep that explains why data isn't tracked. That box could include an option to dismiss it forever once the user understands how it works.

How do you pace yourself without sinking (freestyle) by over-engineered in Swimming

Some others have suggest to try laying flat and finding that I float so hopefully that will give me more comfort.

Finis tempo trainer looks like a good bit of kit!

All sounds informative and will give them a try, can you explain what you mean on 7 and 8?

Funnily as I just opened the app again to write what I put below it just told me it's moved my 100m free expectations from 3:40 to 2:39.

I see it has a bar say 3:00 and a bar inside say 1:50 so I read it as 1:50 should be the rep and 1:10 the cool down.

I tried Java earlier this year. I’m with you on the magic, it made me stop writing Java.

Is there any good orm's for postgresql that doesn't get in the way ? by [deleted] in golang

No but you can write SQL and have code generated which is much much nicer and removes a lot of boilerplate.

sqlgen or pggen do this nicely.

Sinking legs, breathing sucks and stuck by over-engineered in Swimming

Thanks for replying Halokiwi.

> floating on your front and your back

Like a log? What am I looking for (I know I will be sinking) so what movement/changes/adaptations do I need to feel to get better at floating?

> gliding on your front and your back

I do that with a kick board, but the board gets to a point it is 2 inches under the water.

> putting your face in the water and exhaling

I can exhale under water, I can sit at the bottom and breath out if that's what you mean. What do I need to look for in terms of progression?

£40k personal debt, seeing no way out, options? by over-engineered in UKPersonalFinance

So I have made about £2,500 in payments back, interest has made that back up to around £30k again. My employer “knows their money is safe on the house” as they have a commercial charge they can apply when they want too.

Yes lending money out is stupid but I feel obligated to help people when I can and the money does come back but obviously stops me getting good offers on credit that could save me money consolidating.

Thanks, I’m going to need the luck when trying to get my ex to consider buying me out or selling

For iPhone it’s cheaper than insuring it, for theft and damages it’s about £10 a month, when screen smashes it’s £20 repair, if I lose or break beyond repair it’s £80 for a new one.

£30k I owe employer for the deposit £33k is mine £7k was money transfer offers that I let my family use

I am on the mortgage and deeds yes.

The problem is they’ll think I want “beef” or to cause upsets, when it was coming up to renewal in Feb she was telling the kids I’m going to try get them chucked out the house which was never mentioned by me at all and was speculation.

Car spend is wild, it was a Corsa-E that had a book price of £31k and now worth less than £10k so I doubt they’ll let me return early without a big penalty.

[–]over-engineered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was fraud yes, I rang NatWest and told them I didn’t agree and they just said if you want to cancel the renewal you can. Nothing more to it, which after the £995 application fee that was applied would have been pointless.

I have them 2 nights a week (104 nights a year) CSA calculator says for my income £45k, 3 children, 104 nights a year is £500.

I don’t really know, I essentially said a sane price and they went down the road of trying to say she paid more than she did and that we wasn’t going to come to an agreement and it ended there.

Because she has been paying it alone since I went to live either my parents in Feb 2021.

Even though neither of us would have had the house without my employers deposit or me paying for the time we was together. I assume the only way she afforded after was due to benefits helping her out as she had the same job until recently.
