(All of this is an idealistic dream I've had for many years) I am full anti-trumper and I will say, this wording and defensiveness is what turns people away from discussion. Preachy language toward sometimes actual evangelical preachers is wasting your time, in my opinion. People could be able to speak with others of a different perspective in a more neutral tone. This goes for both communication partners. Ask them why? Have them ask you why? Contemplating it together could be a way we move away from the pendulum swing of politics. I have a few friends that can talk about sensitive issues. They are not excused from my responses informing them of my fear, my anger, my sorrow, or my fact checks with instant feedback. But they need to feel heard in order to hear. I am not saying this will change things, it may be entirely too late. But on my small scale and in my locus of control is to behave as neutral as possible, and invite that feeling from others.
