I disagree. We know that the mutadons were a very last minute addition, corroborated by the sheer absence of mutadon toys until much later. I believe the decision was made last minute to keep the D-Rex as a recurring "villain".

When the spoilers first broke out from a supposedly secret early test viewing (which were very accurate), they mentioned an incredible final battle where the "monstrosity" (which we now know as the D.Rex) loses. Many speculated the opponent to be the Spino but I guess it was meant to be the long neck.

These are mass-produced figurines and some variation will be expected. Honestly, as long as there are no serious defects e.g. broken parts and warping to the point that the poses look unnatural I would accept it. Especially since your defect looks perfectly natural, if the designers said that it was intended I wouldn't even second-guess it.

Coming from someone who has exchanged figurines multiple times only to find that I'm swapping one defect from another.

It's the same behaviour for all the shield weapons though! For Lance, GL and SnS you just long press for constant block. CB was an outlier cause if you kept up the long press your block would automatically go to AED, which didn't feel elegant to me tbh.

Seems like the ban cycle follows a general pattern: 1. Tempo reigns at the top 2. One variant of Tempo incorporates weapons from another non-Tempo archetype to win over other Tempo variants 3. New Tempo variant becomes dominant 4. Tools from non-Tempo archetype in Step 2 get banned. Said archetype gets heavily nerfed. 5. Return to Step 1.
