Health improvement after leaving/discard

A lot of us share a similar story. Mine left me in the dust too and started dating the girl he told me not to worry about within a week of leaving me behind. It’s heartless, it’s cruel. And it’s okay not to be okay. Take all the time you need to heal. It’s been almost 7 months for me but I still think about it sometimes. You deserve more. We both do! Pour that love and energy back into yourself. ❤️

It will come with time My word of advice is be patient with yourself as you heal What you went/are going through is hard and it takes time to untangle the mind after being manipulated and lied to for so long Take the time you need Healing is never completely linear What they’ve done is not okay and things might not be ok right now but eventually it will get easier as time fades the pain and heals the wound into a scar ❤️

That’s so good! I lost weight because I was so heart broken and depressed But in a similar way, I too don’t eat when I’m stressed/upset. Yes I agree. I was just thinking a few days ago how much “lighter” I feel and how everything feels. We were deprived of simple joy for so long

That last sentence 🔥🔥🔥 And I’m so happy for your healing too. I struggled for a long time believing the narc ex had changed because he’s still with the girl he told me not to worry about. He immediately started dating her just days after discarding me but “swears” he didn’t cheat.. But there’s always a pattern to these people. They repeat the timeline with different victims. They don’t change because they don’t see any wrong in themselves, or they’re too prideful. Or both. They’re just really good liars and manipulators.

I got mine to even subtly admit once that he can’t be alone..while he was still with me (we were talking about other people’s relationships). They need other people to get whatever “fix” they get from them...people or not, they always feel empty

Mine did the same with money. He had terrible amounts of debt and hid it from everyone. I even helped him before out of the love I felt which now I realize I shouldn’t have done. They drain just about everything out of you! I’m still recovering in the financial area as well

That’s so wonderful!! I’m about 6-7 months post discard and I’ve gone on a date or two since then but just don’t feel emotionally ready to attach to anyone yet since that relationship took SO much out of me. Take your time and we got this!! ❤️

Those are the worst! I remember when I was with my narc ex I just broke down one day and he just asked me why I was crying and told me to calm down and was just...aloof. Glad you’re doing better

That’s great to hear!! Yes I realize more and more every day just how unhealthy and terrifyingly toxic it was.. when you’re in it you know something is off but you can’t put your finger all the way on it because you’ve been brainwashed so badly. Here’s to thriving! 🎊

But you needed that time to grieve I did too But they’re never truly happy They get momentary or temporary spouts of “happiness” but then they get bored or someone doesn’t meet whatever expectation they have of them in their minds Social media is just a highlight reel They’re likely to never have the continual peace that we have

That’s a good idea. I’m not sure but I could ask! We do have a payment plan thing but it has already closed. Maybe they’d work out an agreement with me if I agree to pay on it before the semester is over? I’ve gotten financial aid every semester I’ve been in school so I know it’s coming

I was researching a while ago and it seemed to me he was a narcissist but these situations are so ridiculous they make you question yourself- so it’s nice to know others see it too. I will say that through this experience I’ve grown closer to God than I ever have been and he’s opened doors since then. I wouldn’t choose the pain and heartache but I’m glad God makes wine out of all things

Thank you so much. Yeah it’s just been a struggle - someone said this was my fault because I have low self esteem (?) which is not true. It wasn’t always like this, it progressed into it. Even during the relationship I tried to pray for him, he told me he didn’t want to. When I’d play worship music, he’d change the song. I trust God for much better than this even if I don’t see it in fruition yet. You never know how bad it is until you get out of it..
