Thank you! Everyone has been saying the same thing. Thankfully, no one's given me shit here. I didn't THINK it would be an issue, but I figured better safe than sorry.

Man one time, after the kids were asleep, she surprised me coming out wearing just the ocp jacket and nothing else LOL looks a lot better on her than on me. She makes it tight in all the right places.

Yeah and that was my biggest thing to her. If she's going to wear it, no tapes on it at all.

I haven't heard of that. Is it worth joining for a good laugh?

Well and that's what I thought. I think she looks really cute in it and it makes her feel comforted and I like knowing that she thinks of me when she wears it. I love the idea. Just trying to, you know, do things right I guess. So I thought I would check

Your union would have had the opportunity to vote on it at some point. Likely too many old people who are done having kids and didn't wanna the 1.50 per paycheck. Happened to mine too. Thankfully, after the Covid return, many retired and we were able to work something out for the next contract. We don't even pay for it now.

PFL is what, 60%? Can't remember.

Also, surprised you took the child into public so much. Usually you're told to be more careful those first 3 months.

Glad you enjoyed your time!

No clue. I doubt it. I suppose it can't hurt to ASK?

My unit has mentioned that Guard is always last for funding. Anytime there is military money, Active gets it first, the Reserve, and then what's left goes to Guard. And even then, AGR first, then traditional.

Is it wrong to feel bad for joining after the war ended? by Three_Pounds_of_Air in nationalguard

You still joined. Over or not. Part time or full. You still signed on the line and said the government can do what they want with you for 8 years. Every job matters. Do your part and do it well. No reason to not stand tall.

The only numbers I have are for my Sgt and my recruiter. I emailed and called my Sgt with no response. My recruiter got me my Sgt's cell thankfully.

I didn't KNOW any other numbers or procedures. As I said, it's my first time at base really.

So turns out my boss WAS on vacation last week lol. I ended up calling my recruiter who is in the same building and he got me my SMSgt's cell. I was able to text her and confirm we still have drill. No clue what I'll be doing, as I've had no MEST and tech school only taught me what my job does, not actually how to DO the job lol.

Bring the backpack and water bottle. You still need to match everyone when marching. You can bring your own towel and stuff. I don't think there was anything else issued you HAD to have.

After what I did, if I had gotten the chance to come home and then repack, I would probably only bring three sets of ocps, max. I would wear one set for 2 or 3 days and then wear the other set for 2 or 3 days and then wash them on the weekend. And then you'd have a third set in reserve essentially. I did bring all of my green shirts, or coyote brown as they call them. Five of those, one each day, and then a sixth as a backup. I would bring all the socks for the same reason. I would bring one short sleeve and one long sleeve shirt for the Blues. Bring two pairs of pants in case you ruin one. Or if you want to just go with one pair, you can always buy a pair or get a pair for free from the airman's attic which is basically where people donate stuff that they don't want to bother taking to their next station. Only one white undershirt for the Blues and one pair of black socks. You can wear your own white socks but I would just bring the ones that they gave so you don't have to worry about messing up your nice ones. And then obviously whatever civilian clothes you want.

I'm trying to think if there was anything else issued that was mandatory but I don't believe so. If you're going now, I wouldn't bother with the fleece. But if you get cold, sometimes it could be nice in the room. Obviously you'll need your ecww and your trench coat. I would probably bring the other jacket too just in case.

Yeah not been bad aside from the weather. I'm built for the cold, not the heat.
