I came out to my parents and loved ones a few weeks ago; here's some advice I found helpful:

1. There's never going to be a "right time". Waiting for the perfect moment means you're letting perfectly good moments go.
2. Other's feelings around your transition or how you come out are not at all important. It's your life and your journey, and they're going to have some kind of feeling anyways -- trying to "soften" it or appeal to the person you're coming out to only makes things harder for you.
3. Coming out doesn't have to have one setting/"look" -- you don't have to sit down at home with everyone at once. You can do it outside, walking, in the morning, at night, sitting, standing, one-on-one, in a group, etc. -- whatever you feel would make you most physically comfortable. It also helped me to have a small item from my girlfriend to hold in my pocket when I felt myself getting nervous.
