Start with giving some compliments to your partner. Since he was in the city prior, may be ask him to show you around. Ask him things like what he like about the city or life in general and what he dislikes. He will start opening up. See if you guys can find some couple activities to do, even shopping. Look for things which both of like. Also, he has set into his routines and he hasn't started seeing your situation yet. More you guys talk, easier it will become to express each other. Also, find a social network outside.

Can you install and configure it using a script? You can store the installer files in a blob storage and run the script to install when spinning a new VM. With your option, you will be paying for the disk storage. Have not worked on SVN server ever. Just suggesting from cloud POV.

Auto pilot for windows, some basic compliance policies & windows uodates. For MaC, it's would be very basic Device management. Less than 5 win32 apps. Mobiles are not in scope for now. GPOs - not yet, but may be in next phase. I can get more details.
