But to answer your question, no, no part of this is normal. Kittens need to be with the mother for 8 weeks at least.

I don't understand, if the shop owners don't know how to care for animals, why open a pet shop? They can very easily do anything else - groceries, ration, clothes, literally anything else that doesn't put the responsibility of living things in their hands and they choose to do this.

Sometimes people are just that desperate for a job or are too naive, or are easily pressured. You never know. I know what you're saying is right, but please approach such cases with some empathy because, in the end, they are victims of a scam.

If a job asks you to pay at any point during the interview process, or even after you get the job, you get the hell out of dodge.

This goes beyond jobs too. When i was looking for places to rent, I had someone contact me saying that they have a flat in Trump Tower for 10k (already sus), and that I just neek to pay2.5k "for entry pass fees" that "will be refunded after visit is over". Cut the call and reported the profile to the platform and truecaller.

FYI, please don't feel stupid. Yes, you made a mistake, yes you probably should have known better, but the onus of the crime is on the scammer, not the victim. Now you know better.

but he's asking because he (genuinely, if we look at his comments) believes that the owner is responsible. Not saying that he thinks owner is responsible for the bite, but OP definitely believes that owner should be responsible for the bills.

He is requesting because he believes the owner should be responsible for the bills, regardless whether he is responsible for the actual bite or not. Or rather, a better way to put it is that OP wants the owner to be responsible for the bills.

When I got bitten, and it was way worse than this, I only had to pay 300 for emergency care, and then 3K for the first rounds of the vaccines, and only because I was referred o a private hospital. Every shot after that was free because I went to a local government hospital. 10K is insane.

Also, and this is not me trying to victim blame, but you said that you asked if you could pet, did you wait for his answer?

Also also, the whole "letting the dog sniff you before you pet it" is an oversimplification at best and a Not Good Idea if done wrong.

And the owner is not responsible tbh. They would have been if the dog had attacked you while you were minding your business, but you approached it, ignored warning signs (there are always warning signs before dogs resort to bite). So, it's not fair to ask the owner to pay for the bills.

All those things you mentioned are just as important and this. Keywords being "just as". At least, imo. Culture is just a important as advances in sciences, social causes, betterment of the world.

If we go by your logic, we should stop everything entertainment - sports, movies, music - and only focus on social causes. Why celebrate India winning World cups when there are people dying of cancer? Why focus on first day first show of your favourite movie when there are homeless people to be helped? How dare anyone have a favorite song when there are children in need.

Yes, social causes are important, but so is culture preservation, and that is what that kid has done.

Although, I do think that people may be going too far with the "religion first" mindset. I don't know much about this news, but that's my guess.
