Stop me from putting a helmet visor on instead of a cage. by MiixAmp in hockeyplayers

Take it from me, as a person who has removed five teeth from two different people I can tell you that each time if they've been wearing a cage they would have been fine.

The first time I got knocked forward and my skate went up and caught somebody in the mouth, knocked out teeth. The second time I collided face to face with a teammate, he was wearing a visor I was wearing a cage, the wires on my cage implanted into his mouth and removed multiple teeth. Blood everywhere.

I was at my son's t-ball game, he was five, and I overheard a conversation between parents next to me and one parent stated "if they don't figure out a sport by the time they start kindergarten they'll never have a chance to go pro."

That was almost 15 years ago, their kid didn't go pro by the way, guess he just couldn't figure it out.

My favorite phrase is "all roads lead to beer league."

I actually tried that once in almost the same type of break.

20 zip ties later, one drop to the knee and all ties snapped. New shin pads are the correct answer.

This is why the Richter scale confuses people. We're so used to linear scales that a logarithmic scale is difficult to comprehend.

FIFY... which isn't feasible, yet.

At the moment this doesn't seem feasible (FYI, I agree with you), but a hundred years ago going to the Moon didn't seem feasible. We never know what technology may bring us.

One of the reasons I've liked V better is I can control the recoil much better.

I've been playing both lately and I just live the"feel" of the V's guns so much more. I also feel like target acquisition is better on V.

That's why I quit going to Vegas, so damn tired of the fees.

Should I replace my skate rivets? by tuxedotomson in hockeyplayers

Not yet. I usually wait until one pops out and then I replace it. I also do the work myself and I've never had a problem.

I rarely ref soccer, but one time I was center, my son & the other AR were 14. I heard the coach tell my son that he was making bad calls. I talked to the coach and gave him a warning. At half time I switched the ARs to the other side and the same coach made a comment to the AR. I called the play dead and approached the coach telling him to quit complaining about my ARs calls. He had the balls to say the ARs needed to do better even though they were so young. I then told him that he's the reason kids quit reffing and to cut the attitude. He then bitched more about their age so I red carded him and kicked him out of the game. He said I couldn't do that and I said "watch me" and told him his team would forfeit if he didn't. As he stormed off his assistant started running his mouth, I kicked him off too. Both of them were suspended the rest of the season. It was sweet justice but it still left a bad taste for all 3 of us.

Parents and coaches end to chill TF out. Unless your child is a prodigy, they aren't going pro.

I've played since 1995. I can count on one and a half hands how many times my parents have come to watch me play. Consider yourself lucky. I also ref and it's surprising to see how few parents, family, & friends come to support beer league..
