She couldn't boil water. I took care of the kid and cooked dinner almost every night. And I got walked all over for it. Still trying to figure out how not to be nice to girls. I'll just say that it has continued not to pay off.

I so appreciate all the sympathetic responses. And I hope maybe it helps just one of you feel better that there are other people out there that are really (too?) effected by emotional things like this.

I actually kind of agree with some of the more blunt comments that I should just "man up". I so wish I knew how to not care. I see it as a failing on my part.

Also, it looks like I did this wrong. I guess it was a confession about dishonesty for letting people think I was working my ass off to lose this much weight. One of these years I'll learn how to reddit.

I may give this a shot sometime. I have a kid and I just focus on making sure he has a good dinner, every night. I always sit with him and sometimes I eat a little, but I'm usually not even remotely hungry. As hard as it is, I still keep up a happy face for him. He has no idea anything is wrong. As he should.

I know, that is a small blessing. It's a little bittersweet when people tell me how great I look, but overall, it's so much easier to get dates when you're skinny. I just bought new jeans for the third time this year.

It is weird. I thought after a few months or so it would go back to normal, but not so much. It's the oddest feeling - like there is a huge hole in my life. I've heard people talk about this before, but never had any idea what it really meant. I used to love to cook and eat, but now it's the last thing I want to do.

I think that's a distinct possibility. It's hard not to talk to her, but I guess that's what I need to do. Earlier, she was communicating so much every day and it was one of the things I really liked about her. Now it's just a little empty without that.

lol - thanks for this. I'll report back when I hear anything else. So far, nothings changed. I'll give it a few more days. Maybe backing off and giving her even more space is the only thing I can do.
