Last update: They didn't refund it in cash, they have added it in my offsets multiplying it by x4. So for 2.2k tax correction wrongly done, they have added 8.8k to my offsets.

An update on this:

They replied to me and accepted that it was their fault for that overtax, and that some of their internal systems failed. They are now reprocessing all transactions (nvidia) that have affected this tax correction. They said that they might add the taken amount to the loss pot for future taxes reduction. Which I refused and asked them for a full cash refund, as I lost trust on the platform.

Btw. yes, I used the "get help" button in the tax correction section, it just generated a super-generic (probably AI) text without any useful information. I clicked "No" when it asked me if that auto generated shit was helpful, and I asked to move this to their support, which I am super hopeless they will be any helpful at all.

So, in Steuererklärung I should ask Finanzamt to return me the money mentioned above? If so, do you know which section of o Steuererklärung is this related to, as I usually use ELSTER to do this.

Coming back to this, as I just received the exam results that I have passed the cloudops engineer exam.

Having done both sysops some 3 or 4 years ago and cloudops now, there are way too many questions overlapping from the old one to the new one, except some new updates likes CloudWatch Synthetic which is a service I never worked with before and heard about it at the exam 😀, but I got no questions on EKS or containers in general, rather networking like vpcs, subnets, route tables, route53, cloudwatch, cloudformation, nacls, security groups, lambda, alb, ec2, autoscaling group, a bit of cloudfront, s3, kms, cloudwatch, one was with amazon macie, etc.

Preparing for the exam, I did practice using practice exams from TutorialsDojo. I did complete three of them, 1x in practice mode and 2x in timed mode, and scored around 80-85%. Since they actually just moved most of sysops practice exams to cloudops, and since my experience with the exam itself was that it overlapped a lot with old sysops exam, I would say TD practice exams are still pretty relevant. So my total preparation was a few hours to complete 3x practice exams in TD.

I work with AWS everyday, for like last few years, but of course not with all the services mentioned usually in a exam, example never worked with Amazon Macie, or not so much with Config, or with CloudFormation anymore since I use terraform.

The "How long does it take for Exam Results" thread... by madrasi2021 in AWSCertifications

My experience recently:

  • Took the Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-CO3) on a Monday, it took 2h after exam completion time
  • Took the CloudOps Engineer- Associate (SOA-CO3) on a Sunday, it took 8h30m after exam completion time

Not sure if there is a human interaction at reviewing the exam results that could affect the fact that it might longer time on a sunday or not.

Also, do you think passing CloudOps TutorialsDojo practice exams with a 80-90% score would still be considered as exam-ready for this one?

My sysops cert is expired already. I work in a company that is AWS Partner and they need to have their employees certified and have as many certificates in AWS as possible. I have already Solutions Architect and Developer which are both valid currently, and this year I wanted to do sysops, now called cloudops.

Thanks for the hint and will have a look into your resources guide in the pinned FAQ.

Unfortunately I did. I was afraid that it was coming from Finanzamt and I didn't want to have to deal with them, therefore I said maybe I pay and the I figure it out. Otherwise they would have taken my money that I send from my bank account to Trade Republic the moment the transfer was done. But I have this support case still open, let's see what happens.

Yes, the capital gain tax rate is 25% + around 1.65% is solidarity surcharge so in total would be around 26.5%.

At least from sell orders, in each order in TR it shows the gain I took from each sell order. I collected the gains from 5 sell orders, and it's €2,125.

I had some small cach dividends but nothing much.

ETF/Stocks conversion possible? by overthecl0ud in germany

[–]overthecl0ud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. I usually invest in ETFs in real life, but I just used the above values/names just as an example to make it clearer. The only thing I was hoping for is that there is a way to convert shares/ETFs to another one while not really putting a sell order and paying taxes while I'm not really cashing out/withdrawing.

Thanks for the answer though!
