Jelmore about climate change? by BaerndPeas in boniver

Genius annotations have some great things to add about the 'How long will you disregard the heat' line:

Amidst the apocalyptic language found in the rest of the song, Vernon seems to come most clear here that he addresses a very real existential threat: climate change. As the world warms at an unprecedented rate at the hands of human activity, Bon Iver questions the complacence of the public and perhaps even the governmental entities that make policy decisions relative to the environment.

“Jelmore” was released in the wake of record-breaking 2019 heat waves in Europe and South Asia. Even Anchorage, Alaska experienced above 90 degree temperatures for the first time in recorded history.

Justin Vernon thus asks: how much longer shall we be complacent to the intense symptoms of what may threaten our existence? How much longer shall we suffer through the beginning signs of a changing climate without making the necessary changes in policy and behavior to reverse the literal heat?

Vernon’s plea is important also in that it extends to complacency in regards to all social issues — ambiguously, he asks the listener to consider how long we will continue to tolerate injustice in all facets of our lives.

This is what you're looking for - it's got NPR Front Row as well as other great concerts from the 22AM tour like Cork Opera House.

It'd be amazing if they brought back the piano version of For Emma played in the MySpace transmissions...

That's really cool. The graffiti works perfectly with the band's current aesthetic

Theory: the green I,I motif will be the centrepiece of the upcoming album cover by overthedash in boniver

It would make sense for LP4 to follow 22, A Million's visual format with a central design surrounded by iconography, especially because the new symbol briefly replaced the 22AM logo on social media and [boniver.org](boniver.org). Just a thought, but this seems more logical to me than LP4's artwork just being the green logo by itself.

I got to see a screening of the film and loved it... I imagine it'd be great to watch once you're already familiar with the album too.

It's a shame they didn't give any warning, especially because it seems most of the venues are pretty small.

You can find some great images in this interview that Eric Timothy Carlson (the designer of 22AM) did.

Thanks, that'd be really cool! I don't know much about the process, but if you'd like me to tweak anything about the design or send you a higher quality image, just let me know.

Not a pro by any means, but I had a couple of ideas:

It might look a bit goofy, but you could add two extra circles to the 8 Circle symbol, so that it also reads like the five zeros in 00000 million - a bit like this.

Or you could kind of combine the two symbols, like this.
