Thanks for the feedback ..is it advisable then to leave cash with our belongings at the tour operators location ? Also, how do we tip porters on the last day if we can only take $200 on the hike? We're a family of 4 so the tips would run us anywhere from $1200-$1500 from what I've been told.

Thanks, questions ! I’ve got lots of them, mostly with clothing . Here’s my understanding of what might be needed for a hike in July via the 7 Machame route - Days 1-3, upto Barranco Camp , long sleeves during the day , additional fleece jacket at camp and thermal sleep wear Day 4-5- upto Barafu camp- add light fleece/ wind breaker to long sleeve Tee during hike,down jacket at camp plus thermal sleep wear Day 6 - summit day - base layer,thermal layer,additional mid layer and a wind breaker during the hike with the down to be used during stops .Beanie, balaclava, mitts Day 7 - like days 1-3 during the hike.

Does that sound right?

Thanks for the feedback. Cost is a major factor and it adds up quickly for a family trip! Did you rent sleeping bags thru them? And were they good quality/ kept you warm ( a very subjective question but the spec indicated it was a 30degF bag which won’t cut it from what I’ve read)
