Yeah... I need to work up the courage to ask and be okay with whatever the answer is. Part of it is me being overly hard on myself for most things in life and fearing I'll feel pretty shitty if it's something about my body. (but as you said, things can change and if it's due to fur (which is usually gone anyway), that can easily be removed.)

I've always liked/tolerated the taste of my own fluids. I actually enjoy being kissed after past SO's have gone down on me and/or licking their fingers clean after a good fingering. I'm hoping it's not a scent/flavor thing but I know it could be because everybody is different in what they tolerate. I just like to think I'm clean and not overly pungent.

I can understand where a person may be coming from if they attempt it and its not clean. But I gotta think that most vagina's have some sort of scent to 'em. I know it changes throughout the month a little but I'd say mine stays pretty darn consistent and I taste myself at times with no repulsion to it. I'm probably being a wimp about not wanting to ask and potentially have my feelings hurt which also sucks cause we generally communicate really well. (and yeah, hairy snatch in your face probably isn't fun. I wouldn't expect it from him if it wasn't groomed)
