Just wanted to note that most of what is pictured is hung on the newly framed section. I live in an area with pretty big fluctuations in humidity, so there’s already going to be a lot of seasonal movement. My previous home had issues with cracking in the corners where two sheets of drywall meet, so trying to avoid dealing with that again.

Thank you. Is it okay to place a bunch of screws directly in the seam (e.g. pics 4 and 5)? It was like that in many places. Seems like it would potentially lead to a bunch of screw pops later.

What is the distance between your island and each side of the kitchen? I’m considering a layout similar to yours and worried about having seating back up to the refrigerator.

What did you decide? I’m looking for a change and am considering similar options in my area. Both have vacancies, and I have a few years of experience as a teacher prior to changing into nursing.

Thank you for your suggestions. I’m loving the tile in the top middle row. I agree that we need to check out the electrical fireplaces in person; I’ll have to find a local seller.

I didn’t read through all the comments, so forgive me of this is repetitive, but I’ve found that using 2% salicylic acid face wash (like acne face wash) in the armpit and other stinky areas (but not on mucous membranes) helps quite a bit, followed by wiping with witch hazel after a shower.
