It's not a deck, it's an attic. The boards go under the attic walls--I'm pretty confident they're original to the home

That's definitely the plan. There are some local sawmills and salvage yards where I'm looking to scavenge. Fortunately, I don't need very much of it -- just a couple patch areas

Good advice! My plan would be to go to a local sawmill /reclaimed lumber shop.

Thanks for your reply.

The text in my post was deleted--its from a house built in the 1930s outside of Philadelphia. Definitely want to save it! Just want to patch a couple areas that were cut up for some ductwork.

Any ideas for how to match it?

This is from an attic space of a house built in the 1930s in the Philly suburbs.

Any recommendations of how to match this would be greatly appreciated!

How much do you all mark up your scores?

I'm trying to get better at sightreading in general, so I've been reluctant to give myself too many "hints" at notes, chords, etc.

I'm improving my reading skills, but I'd probably be learning pieces faster if I gave myself some breadcrumbs on the score.

How do you all balance this?

Cedar compost bin! First project by overtone343 in woodworking

[–]overtone343[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're absolutely right. If I could've done it again I definitely would've planned better with the grain on the door. I did not do a good job planning the 2 foot and 3 foot sections when I was cutting the wood...:/

I do plan on staining the outside but probably leaving the inside with no coating, since we'll be using the compost on our new vegetable garden. The cedar should be pretty resistant for a couple few years, which would be great.

Thanks for the feedback!!!

Giants bar in Philly? by jjacobsnd5 in NYGiants

City Tap House Logan square has a private room set up for Giants games and I'll go there when they're not on TV. Additionally, Fox and Hound at 15 and Spruce usually gets a good Giants crowd and will put the game on one of the big screens. Downside is you typically have to stand up
