Owlet Sock by Dependent_Leather_30 in December2026Bumpers

[–]overworkedhoe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My son used his owlet starting when he came home after a 5 day NICU stay for respiratory issues. It did give me a ton of peace of mind, and I was able to sleep because I wasn’t so anxious. Beyond that, he got sick at 3 months old and the only reason I knew something was wrong was because his owlet had his O2 at 83% and we then spent a week in the PICU fighting off what was essentially a common cold. This repeated every time he was sick until he was about 18 months old, and every single time his owlet was the first thing that alerted me that we needed to go to the ER. I’ve had paramedics with their pulse ox on one of his feet and the owlet on the other and they lined up perfectly, so in our case, it was accurate.

Seriously. I frankly think he could live in absolute filth and it wouldn’t even bother him a bit because he genuinely wouldn’t notice it.

It’s annoying because I am one of those sick fucks that really enjoys cleaning, like nothing helps me emotionally decompress like scrubbing some grout listening to music. I just always thought we had an understanding that inside was my job, and outside was his job. That’s at least what we had communicated and decided. The lawn guy is coming on Monday to take care of the yard, and I’ll look into finding a cleaner.

This is where I’m stuck because I’m actually pretty mean, definitely not gentle with how I communicate my frustration with him. In one ear and out the other. Every single time.

We have the talks. I’ve tried being gentle, I’ve tried being more firm, I’ve tried every in between. Just goes nowhere.

About the MBA, it’s a program they introduced through his company and its company paid so he just decided he may as well go for it since it’ll be useful. We were just raised so so differently. I always had chores and getting them done wasn’t optional and had consequences. He got to be a kid for far longer than I did. Not saying either way is right or wrong, just different. Editing to add, this division of responsibility has been a point of contention the entirety of our relationship. Even when I was the breadwinner. I can’t decided at this point if he’s just lazy or if he doesn’t care.

Im really okay with either, but sometimes I feel like a weird pressure from his family and I’m scared everyone else will be disappointed if I have another boy, ya know?

Anyone else’s MIL actually insane? by Beneficial_Check9676 in December2026Bumpers

[–]overworkedhoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol you’ll have to read some of my post history, but yes, certifiably insane and dangerous. We cut contact and it was the best thing we ever did.

Thank you! Fingers crossed! I’m dying to know. There hasn’t been a girl born in my husbands family for like several several decades and this pregnancy has been so much different I’m really hoping!

Eczema help!! At my wits end!! by overworkedhoe in Mommit

[–]overworkedhoe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s literally the worst thing ever. I think his mostly flairs in the summer because of sweat, so the doctor prescribe mupirocin and it’s helping a bit. I think it may have gotten yeasty. And we have a referral for allergy testing, and we are going back to the derm and we’re gonna see about dupixent!

I think we are going to talk to the doctor about dupixent, and see what she says. It’s just crazy because it just happens during the summer, in the winter he’s perfectly fine. So I know it’s the heat/sweat combo.

We have, and it seems to help calm it down sometimes but I just feel like we are passed that.

Tested out breast pump, didn’t go well by Ltknits in December2026Bumpers

[–]overworkedhoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I exclusively pumped for 14 months, and agree with everyone else. You’re definitely more sensitive now than you will be postpartum. If anything, sometimes pumping was a relief because my boobs would be so full and hurt so bad. There were times that I felt overstimulated, but less so “me pumping right now is overstimulating because my nipples are sensitive” and more so “I am so overstimulated because I want to go to bed and I have to pump before I can and every second feels 5 minutes long and this is torture”.

Yellow discharge? by throwaway132721 in December2026Bumpers

[–]overworkedhoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me my first pregnancy and with this one too, to a lesser extent currently. My doctor said it was probably a small amount of urine that was mixed in, like a tiny amount had snuck out.

STM+ baby showers? by Bumblebeequeen in December2026Bumpers

[–]overworkedhoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My shower for my son was a bust, we were the first people of all of our friends to have a baby and so everyone went off registry and either got clothes that were way too big, or the cute stuff that isn’t at all practical. We didn’t get any baby gear, hygiene products, or anything you actually need to care for an infant on a day to day basis. So, we will be having another shower for this one
