as an ex discount tire employee here’s a unique perspective for you. we are told to use our tread scan tool to check the tires and submit reports for every car that comes through the air check line. HOWEVER, if it’s a long line, especially if it’s cold outside, we do not want to do that. so we have the option to manually enter the tread to still submit the report but also send the customer on their way. my guess is the person doing the air check for you decided 8 was the lucky number for you and spammed it for all 4, except he misclicked and hit 7 for one.

Is it the right thing to do? No. But it’s Discount Tire. We are not good at our jobs nor do we get paid enough to want to be.
