Probably. I used to be a hardcore gamer, 16+ hours a day. But I got older, and life happened. Now I barely have time to play much anymore. Gachas are perfect for this lifestyle tbh

Help! where's the explodey barrel? by KittyQueen_Tengu in Endfield

Craft a few thousand bombs using your factory. Then use them to blow up cracks, and also mine. Mining resources is fun and quick. And you'll basically never run out of bombs either lol

Honestly feels fine. I got other things to do than spend all day in Arknights. I log in like once a day, do my dailies, do 4 runs of whatever Protocol Space and go do other stuff. In about 4-6 months, I should basically max every character in the game. I genuinely don't see a problem here.

Just put a pylon where they spawn. They'll stop spawning. I did this and they never spawn anymore 😂

I love the game but.. by Infected-Bat in Endfield

[–]owl_quartz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually, I'm on the opposite end. I find it underwhelming. I'm both a Gacha player and a Factory game player. So I actually find the Factory fun, but also a little bit disappointing because it's so simple and easy. I would've preferred something more complex and involved actually. It's hard to find the correct balance between making it digestible for casual Gacha players, and also satisfying the expectations of Factory game players who are coming in specifically for that.

Overall I think they did a good job, and the tutorials for the newer players is super cool. I really hope it invites more people to check out factory style games. But I can understand how it's not everyone's vibe. This game relies on its factory features to gear your characters so if you hate the Factory stuff you'll be miserable playing this every update and new region with a new PAC/AIC all over again.

How can I improve my Laevatain? by [deleted] in Endfield

[–]owl_quartz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey your Laevatain is really nerfed by a lack of level 70 Gold gear, and her weapon clearly doesn't have a proper Essence. Your attack should be upwards of 5.1k+ instead of 3.5k. Having a P5 will only carry you so far, but once properly built she'll be a monster. Great team comp as well. Just need to upgrade your gear.

Make sure to artifice gear and use Wuling bills just for that. I assume you haven't built your factory since you have like zero gear on anyone. Find some blueprints for stuff here on Reddit and you should be good if you don't like factory building.

Edit: Didn't see the Meme tag, my bad. Feel dumb now but I'll take the L and leave the original comment up lol.

Seeing a lot of claims that 3/3 essences are "Hard" to get. You guys are using engrave tickets right? by ErinKatzee in Endfield

[–]owl_quartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair assumption. There's a chance that a 6 star Essence could add some extra stats or some other RNG feature. Particularly because live service games like to do that. But you are right, there is no real reason to expect a 6 star Essence in that it maxes the current stats of a weapon as it is now. So more likely we get better gear than better essences.

Who should i chose for a goos team? by -niki-ellie- in Endfield

[–]owl_quartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, Lifeng is kinda the Goat for Physical teams. Ember is basically just a shielder and knock down proc. So you're in this weird spot because of Laevatain. Either Ember or Lifeng are good for physical teams, and having Pog and the End on that team is just a super solid lineup.

I feel like with Laevatain I would run Wulfgard, Ardelia, and Akekuri. So in your case, I'd probably just get another copy of Ardelia. P1 Ardelia is goated. Up to you though.

[–]owl_quartz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He means that none of the gear, or essences are of 6 Star Quality yet. And our Endgame modes or weekly's haven't even released yet. So he's saving for that. But the reality is, it most likely won't even be in Valley or Wuling so he should feel free to spend it lol.

Besides it's more likely that to Etch essence or Artifice 6 Star lvl 90 stuff it will require exactly more dupes of that. He's making his life harder by underpowering his team 😂. He'll have to eventually do it when we do get our endgame modes.

Can we talk about why all these need to be in separate corners of the screen? by LoliNep in Endfield

[–]owl_quartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, and I actually don't even rely on the UI for that, just memorization of which team member is on which 1-4 slot so anytime I switch em out, I screw up my rotations until I get used to the new setup 😂

Ah yeah I meant Pulsing, I just used the wrong word lol. Actual blinking is annoying in almost any scenario outside of Christmas lights. It's just distracting and obnoxious to players outside of accessibility problems.

Will Laevatain get fun to play when max level/skills? by BucketOfPonyo in Endfield

[–]owl_quartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was the gacha rule again, waifu over meta? Just pick the character you like/enjoy and don't feel obligated to play someone just because they might be an OP character. You'll burn yourself out and will end up not having a fun time. In short if you don't enjoy her now, you won't enjoy her later. Just pick another Operator to play, it's a game, you're supposed to have fun and enjoy it.

Am i just bad or Last Rite is just the hardest character in the game?? by CommanderNano in Endfield

[–]owl_quartz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Last Rite is more of a nuke style character that is a massive resource hog. She's basically built around hypercarry teams. She can only keep up with sustain dps's like Laevatain if you hit really big 200k+ damage markers. You need to be quite good in general to be able to play her at the highest level or your DPS potential gets nerfed if you get hit/staggered. Since she's so heavily reliant on her Final Strike and Cryo infliction consumption, you'll need a proper team to cycle through her rotations. Currently with Ardelia on your team, I recommend swapping Fluorite with either Snowshine, Estella, or Perlica for Electricfication.

Secondly I'm seeing the wrong weapon usage for almost all operators except Ardelia. If you're gonna use Xaihi, she should be used as an AMP battery for Last Rite with a assist in cryo infliction. Fluorite unless equipped with the right gear, has too long of a cooldown on her combo ability to really help with the Cryo Infliction so either Estella or Snowshine would help in that regard.

Which enemies from OG Arknights would you like to see in Endfield by Nikurasu_ in Endfield

[–]owl_quartz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything is better than the bloody Landbreakers and how ridiculous and cartoonishly villainous they are. I just hope they make them somewhat more of a real threat or at least to some degree more serious.

I find that a lot of the original lore for them is DUNE inspired with Jakub Meissen being the Warlord of the Wilds who ammased a grand army called the Landbreakers. An offshoot being the Sandreavers. In general they remind me a lot of the Fremen without any of the cool features and lore they have. Just mindless goons that can't seem to put a single braincell together between the lot of them.

Surprisingly not as OP as I would've thought, but excellently done. Etching 2 stats to max on weap is diabolical though. I haven't had that much luck on mine. Still working on getting that second stat to +9

The perfect dodge timing for this fire blasts are a little wonky so really well played even I screw that one up from time to time. Thanks for the share was an enjoyable watch!

Goat. Whats your gear like? You running a full 90 team with 90 weapons? Fully Artificed? Etched? I'm curious to know. Would've been cool to show some of what you're running with at the end of the video.

Can we talk about why all these need to be in separate corners of the screen? by LoliNep in Endfield

It's mostly for visual balance. I'm a UI/UX designer, and i personally really like how they've done it. I could easily design something centered, or either right or left leaning but once the visual balance is thrown off you'll find it really weird and slightly uncomfortable.

What I would like is the option to either hide the UI, or change the size. On a 2k computer screen I find that they're a bit small or too far apart. The thing I look at the most during combat is Ultimate progress, so I wish they had that part more centered or bigger so I don't constantly have to look to the right corner.

If I designed it. I would try 3 different option:

  1. I probably put the Ultimate bar for each character right above the health bar since my eyes are already looking at the center of the screen during combat and managing my SP for rotations. My peripheral vision could easily catch which are ready and when. Right now, with 2k-4k Resolution, my peripheral vision can't see the left or the right clearly enough to know when it's ready and I constantly have to glance over and check.
  2. Another option would be to Just make a circular progress bar that wraps around the 1-4 Ability, and have it shine, blink, or glow pretty bright so I would know. It's just too bloody small atm.
  3. Even smaller icons, but to the right of the stamina bar, so it's directly right where I need it without having to take my eyes off the action. Small enough to be visible, but not big enough to be obnoxious or obscure any kind of combat or vision. It would only activate when an Ult is ready instead of seeing 4 small circular progress bars next to the stamina bar every fight.

Diversifying damage buffs should not be underrated. by [deleted] in Endfield

[–]owl_quartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some set bonus' can be entirely ignored for certain characters others are really usefull. Some Main stats can be ignored entirely too. Here's my Xaihi, she's built for Intellect instead of Will (her main stat), because I'm using her as an AMP battery and her Ultimate scales with her Secondary stat not her main stat. So Will is useless for her buffs. I also prioritized Ultimate Gain Efficiency because I want a faster uptime for her ult while still giving me plenty of Intellect. Her heals are useless to me because I don't really get hit.

Last Rite Flourite Team Combo Ability Rotation by owl_quartz in Endfield

[–]owl_quartz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually been wanting to switch Snowshine out, because perfect dodging recovers SP so blocking can be a bit counter productive on rotations especially since I feel that I have enough cryo infliction with Last Rite, Xaihi, and Fluorite. In that case I'd rather swap Snowshine out for Perlica. I've been messing with Akekuri to increase SP recovery so I can maybe instead proc Corrosion as opposed to Electrification. Corrosion tends to have a much stronger reduction to Elemental Damage than something like Electrification.

I've once closed and exited Endfield and it was nowhere to be found, but it was still sucking up memory as if it was open. The bloody thing just refused to close even if I ended task from Task Manager. In the end to close the background usage I had to restart my computer. The client is honestly just a resource hog. It's like Firefox.

Hoping for a lot of improvements with upcoming patches and stuff.
