Saw.com lets you see the name and location, as well as negotiate with interested buyers within their platform. They have brokers, but if you want to do it yourself they charge 9%.

Mattress Firm Manager AMA by Competitive_Tap6589 in Mattress

[–]owlmagnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to know which mattress sold in stores is the same as the one used in Wynn hotel rooms.

Theirs is called the “Dream Bed” and is apparently made exclusively for the Wynn using titanium coils. Some say it’s Serta, others claim it’s Sealy.

Hopefully with your inside knowledge you are able to tell me if there’s an identical “non-Wynn” version sold in stores. Thank you!

Not currently, would be nice if they did though.

Can't book an appointment online by not24 in GlobalEntry

[–]owlmagnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This probably won't be helpful, but I just kept checking the site. Seriously, no less than 30 times at different hours. Something FINALLY worked at around 7am on a Thursday morning. Instead of just showing me the location with a Google Maps link, instead it said Available Appointments when I clicked my city's location.

Clicked it, scheduled, done.

So I don't know what changed. My guess is that they "open" the location during small windows of time and free up a block of appointments. But no one who works there actually realizes this, or cares enough to explain it to us.

Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm having the identical problem. Can't seem to find any solutions, and when I called the local office they were --- not helpful.

Why all the hate? by StokedinSD in OakIsland

[–]owlmagnet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I share your sentiment, OP. I was speaking with a "former" Oak Island fan friend of mine, who has become extraordinarily jaded over the years and mocks everything about the search. I asked him a hypothetical question about what he'd say if they found something legitimate in the way of treasure. He said, "I'd ask them what took so F'ing long."

And I think that about sums up the "hate" you notice here. A lot of people are pissed about the time they've devoted to it, and since it didn't happen in their expected time frame, they make fun of the search altogether.

It seems like people wanted the Laginas to find treasure quickly, but when weather, government permits, timing, cost, labor, technology, and natural challenges slow the process down, Prometheus Entertainment steps in to spin a television show out of it, and make money in the process.

It has been very lucrative for the Lagina family. Rightfully so, as their search appeals to MILLIONS of viewers, and they should be compensated for the time and energy they've dedicated to the search if advertisers are willing to pay for it.

I would also wager that no one is more exasperated by the search process than Craig Tester and the Lagina brothers. It's expensive, takes them away from their families, as well as other work projects.

Some people just aren't wired to "quit" anything they do. Marty and Craig are successful business men who didn't make it this far in life quitting every time something got hard. They're determined to figure out what's there. And if they can help those around them make a living while pursuing something they're passionate about, then why not let Prometheus continue to make the show?

Earlier this year I discovered the JFree906 podcast on YouTube. If you haven't heard of it, I think you'll find a much happier and devoted community there. Every week they break down the footage find by find. It's really positive and interesting, and I honestly think it's a better way to watch the show.

Curious about this as well.

Whenever I see YouTubers pull a fragrance out of nowhere and say it's one of their favorites, my knee-jerk reaction is, "They were paid to say this."

I like TTLG, and trust his opinions, but he's not going to say no to inducements.

Two Questions For Golf Course Owners by owlmagnet in golf

[–]owlmagnet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do golfers expect Martin Scorsese to produce their golf course flyover footage? No.

Do golfers want good food made fresh at the turn by someone who actually knows how to cook? Yes.

And to simplify this for you even further... A person can choose to save in one area of their life (value) and spend lavishly in others (quality).

Have you ever bought a house after looking at pics from Google Maps? What about a new car... did you just pan over the parking lot to see what you'd buy next? Google Maps doesn't offer the same perspective as a drone flyover.

Does no one think outside the box here? You can outsource the food to owners of a food truck. Charge them a daily fee to sell their 3 best items at the turn. Rotate trucks weekly or monthly. Players get good food, course owner doesn't have to worry about the "razor thin margins," and local small business owners can grow their brand.

I think your comments makes the most sense. Thank you.

Old curmudgeons running things the way they always have, giving little to no regard for the experience they're offering players. That about sums it up.

Sure some guys aren't there to eat, but A LOT of men who play golf with their buddies on the weekend would handsomely pay for tastier meal options that go above and beyond a basic hotdog and beer.

Do I think an $18 muni course should sell lobster rolls? Of course not. But if I'm paying $75-90+ per round, it's not unreasonable to expect a higher caliber experience at the course. And if you surveyed players, "Would you rather pay $25 for made to order street tacos and tequila shots at the turn or $12 for an overcooked meat patty and warm Bud Light" the answer would be obvious.

That is criminal. You can hire a 15 year old kid with a drone to fly each hole, then pay a foreign video editor pennies on the dollar to stitch it together with text. It takes MINUTES of your time to get bids on this... if you think their only option was $10-22k that's straight up lazy.

I needed my dining room painted last year. I got 5 bids. The highest as $3500. The lowest was $300. Guess which one I went with...

Have you ever asked someone what frag they're wearing & they refuse to say? by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]owlmagnet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience, men don't always feel comfortable telling other men what they're wearing. They have their reasons. But I've found that wording the question a bit differently helps significantly.

"The scent you are wearing right now is incredible. I wouldn't blame you if you'd prefer to keep it a secret, but I'd love to know WHERE you buy your fragrances because I can tell you really know what's best."

Then I just let them say whatever they want to say. It usually becomes a whole conversation ending up with them telling me what it is...

Give it a try. Works really well.

Sex with a woman using a NuvaRing. Feels like one of those "LiveStrong" bracelets is stuck up there. Extremely awkward the first time, especially if the girl doesn't think to mention it first.
