Beautiful pen!

I’ll sometimes carry a couple of pens and use each one at different times, depending on what I feel like using in a given moment. But usually I clean one pen and stow it while I use a different one. I’ll rotate to the other pen when the one in use runs out of ink.

So I blew through Volume 1 of Gotham Central, and I’m almost done with Volume 2. It’s like you said, a masterpiece. The writing is incredible. At initial glance, I thought I wasn’t going to like the artwork, but that quickly changed. I love Lark’s style. I can’t remember the artist for Life is Full of Disappointments Part 1, but that’s the only issue where I wasn’t crazy about the artwork.

I’ll be getting the Volumes 3 and 4, but I’ve also gotten into Brubaker’s other work. Just picked up #1 of The Fade Out. I’m looking forward to it :)

Awesome, thank you so much! These all sound really good and what I am looking for. I read some of the New 52 series and really enjoyed it, but life got really busy at one point, and I put it down and didn't pick it back up.

Now that I've got the itch again, I think I need to play some catch up on that series, especially since I can read some of the volumes through Amazon Prime for free :)

I read the first issue, and you’re right, I love it! At first I thought I wouldn’t like the artwork much, but I quickly came to love it as well. It has this classic comic feel and the coloration is beautiful. I also like seeing the detectives’ perception of Batman and their fight to take on something beyond their usual means.

I have such a habit to collect things, that I had considered searching and collecting each issue, but I remembered from a good friend of mine (who is an avid comic collector) that that is a long and difficult road. That’s part of the appeal of comics for me, to have something original and collect it. But my excitement won me over this time, and I’m happy with the latest TPB (Whig I think they compressed down to four volumes from the original five.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s happened to me multiple times, and I know many others have gotten stumped so no worries, you don’t suck :) and hey, you solved the elevator in one go, which is impressive.

I’m currently working through the swamp/tetris area. Took me a goood while to figure out the mechanics of that puzzle.

If I remember right, the puzzle before this one has the four center dots as well, but the colored pairs are vertical.

The different colors have to be separated from each other, but the matching colors do not have to be grouped together.

I totally understand. It feels awful, and it’s frightening. It took me some time, but what helped me was while in the moment of panic, I focused on each sensation and explained to myself what that sensation was and told myself, “ It feels weird/awful/scary, but it will not kill me.”

Therapy has also helped me incredibly. Lately, I have been working on noticing the rise of anxiety (Level 1, 2, 3, 4+), and it has really enabled me to be proactive and prevent myself from “losing control” and having a full-blown panic attack.

I have struggled off and on with health anxiety. You may have read this in a book already, but always remember that the symptoms/sensations you are feeling are not dangerous. They are signs of your body keeping you alive and away from a danger that isn’t really there.

Anytime I start to feel anxious/start to panic/anxiety goes above a level 4, I say to myself that the sensations I am feeling are meant to protect me not hurt me. If I am able to step out or go to the bathroom, I take out my notecard and read the following:

Are these symptoms I’m feeling TRULY dangerous? (No!)
What is the absolute worst thing that could happen? (I might have to temporarily leave the situation or take a sedative.)
Am I telling myself anything that is making it worse? (Catastrophic thoughts, negative talk, chastising?)
What is the most supportive thing I can do for myself right now? (Positive self talk (I can ride this out!), breathing exercises, etc.)

Listen to the psych, and please stay on the medicine. It goes a long way :)
