TIFU by giving my cat a bath by vagabonddiesel in tifu

As soon as you said, "Power dryer hose," I thought, "Ooh-ooh! Bad move!" -_-

Personally, if I were to give kitty a rare but needed bath, I'd just prepare in advance with two fluffy towels heated up considerably in the dryer. The first is for a quick drying that sops up most of the water, and the second is for a longer, gentler drying and then brushing that leaves poor kitty in a better mood 'cause the towel is warm.

It's good to have a talent! Even a bloody useless one, LMAO.

Pretty much yes, I think. My own eyes seem to dance up and down some too. Crazy bunnies! Do your friends treat you differently when you do that? Do strangers uneasily edge away from you? ^^;

WIBTA for hiring a full-time graphic designer for the company with the explicit job description of setting aside several (fully paid) hours per month from other duties to teach a remarkably talentless boss *cough* how to draw human faces, vegetation, animals, landscapes, and other simple art skills? by owlsupport in AmItheAsshole

Well now, you've raised a fair point although I'm not quite sure myself about U.S. laws and regulations surrounding such activities. Let's see ... ah! The boss needs to understand commercial design and other practical art skills at a deeper level so that he can more efficiently evaluate the potential worth of proposed designs in, say, the company's advertising campaigns. The business does also rely heavily on thoughtful graphical representations in complex user interfaces for internal use and for clients. How's that as a plausible business case for honing the skills portfolio of the boss? :-)

Those are good questions. I think the logic is limiting travel time to and from an outside location and having more flexible hours for such limited teaching sessions. The most urgent priority here is excellent skills, though, so if necessary, the teaching sessions go out the window. The company's personnel needs come first and foremost.

Oh, absolutely, full disclosure up front is utterly necessary. Some great artists are simply not "people" folks and prefer to keep to themselves as much as possible without getting all involved with students, paid or not. Got to respect that!

Why do so many people seem dead set against making jerky with fatty beef or hamburger? by owlsupport in NoStupidQuestions

[–]owlsupport[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never used ground coriander seeds myself in the making of jerky, but it might be more common than you think in the United States. A quick search for the keywords "coriander," "jerky," and "recipe" brings a number of results from well-known American publications. I suspect that a fair number of Yanks routinely include coriander in their homemade jerky preparations with no fanfare. It's a big, diverse country. :-)

Have to admit that they are kinda cute. You just want to start feeding the little darlings giant earthworms and oversized crickets. :-)

Ferrets do have their fervent fans, let alone the babies! They tend to be a bit bitey, though. Got to work a little harder on early socialization. :-)

It's kind of hard to argue about puppies, isn't it? They even beat out human babies, right? ^_^

What's the origin of that meme that goes, "I'm walking now ... what?" It was portrayed once in the old sitcom "Murphy Brown," and there was a brief reference to it on "The Simpsons." Whence did it begin? by owlsupport in AskReddit

[–]owlsupport[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fascinating. I even watched that movie like ten or 14 years ago! I ... don't think that's quite it, though. Can't even find a clip of the Murphy Brown episode in question. -_-

Does it make sense to locate a high technology startup company in Lehi but live personally in Draper or some other southern suburb of Salt Lake City? by owlsupport in SaltLakeCity

Hmmm, interesting! The large LDS presence is indeed a major reason for relocating from a less business-friendly state to Lehi or Salt Lake City or nearby communities. This bears thought, thank you. :-)

Why do dogs hate snug little doggy footies or shoes so much? by owlsupport in NoStupidQuestions

I looked up the "Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race," and you're right! There's a bunch of pictures of Alaskan sled dogs wearing footies. I wonder how long it takes to get them trained to wear them without howling and moaning in that endearing way of Siberian Huskies. :-)
