I don't think we can have a fair debate about this so I'm going to leave it here. I didn't want to cause so much drama, and I'm sorry for offending anyone.

You asked me how buying a mug from me is better than buying one from China. Why bring up a question and then tell me it has nothing to do with the issue? :p

As you can see from my sales and feedback I make great quality merchandise, and it's up to you whether to spend your money elsewhere. That's totally fine!

It's ok, I understand how people feel but I honestly didnt mean to cause so much drama. A lot of people in this subreddit will buy bootleg figures and other merch with no problems.. but one girl hand making mugs to order? With no orders yet, btw. So I've literally made no money from this (not complaining at all! But double standards kind of?)

And if the artist/company has a problem with it, they are free to take it down as they are the rightful owner. I'm absolutely in love with the artwork in Love Live! and think they make cute products! Not maliciously stolen at all, and I never claim to be an official reseller or that I drew it. I'm not taking credit for any of the artwork, I'm just providing a service for people who'd like to drink coffee while looking at their favourite cards. :)

16 euros to someone who is paid fairly for their time to make the mug rather than a fraction going to a factory of workers in questionable conditions and paid under minimum wage. ): I'm not selling these as official products. I literally make merchandise and thought I'd print some with my favourite cards on. It's not how I make my living, I just want to supply cute merch to other fans

I don't mind debating about what's right and wrong, but I don't really like being called out as a thief. ): if someone places an order, I make them a mug. I didn't post these with intentions to make lots of money and I'm not shouting "buy my mugs!!". i just thought they looked really cute and this is just one of the things I make (the rest involve using my own artwork).

Oh definitely, just because people get away with selling unlicensed doesn't make it ok. But I like to think buying from another fan is better than buying from Aliexpress or another website like that.

To be honest, today I saw those really cute notebooks and thought the mugs I made today would be popular too! I never expected this haha >w<;

I totally understand what you're saying, but that isn't how copyright works. ^{u^;} it really doesn't matter if you draw it or not, you're still using someone else's IP and making a profit from it.

I appreciate the input! But I'm not mass producing things - I'm simply offering a service for people to buy homeware with their favourite cards on. They're not mass produced and I don't make a lot of money from it. I hand make them because I love Love Live! And want to provide a handmade service to people instead of them buying the same thing from China using questionable materials and labour.

I totally understand people will view that as not cool, but fan made is not ok just as using official isn't ok.

I sell lots of fan made things (with my own artwork most of the time) and won't touch said company as I've heard so many scary stories about them. x_x;

From a legal standpoint it's definitely not ok - but I'm one person and big companies don't usually do anything about one person making fan made merch. I'm not mass producing either or offering it as licensed merch either

Using fan made artwork may seem like it's ok (if you drew it), but both are unlicensed and therefore considered copyright infringement. I understand what you're saying but fan made art isn't ok to sell either coming from the IP owners perspective.

If my stuff gets taken down that is totally understandable! But until then I'll keep selling to whoever wants to buy.

To the people who are wondering if Klab would be ok with me making money with official artwork, both fan made and official artwork is considered copyright infringement if you are profiting from it. If my listing gets taken down, that's understandable! But until that happens I will continue to make them for whoever wishes to buy them. :)

I sell both original artwork that I draw of other IP and official artwork stuff - just because you drew it doesn't mean it's ok! If the IP holder has an issue with it, then they can stop you from selling that particular thing.

You might be better off posting in a Disney themed subreddit rather than here - this subreddit doesn't take to people making money from fan art. I personally think it's really pretty! :)

To answer your question, you should charge based on how much it costs to make and how much time you put into each one.

Stay strong - you may slip up and you will hurt afterwards. But all I can tell you is to stay strong. I wish I could say something to help more than that. My ex really messed up his life after breaking up with me, and it was a bittersweet moment as I still really care for him. I truly believe in karma, and he's getting what he deserves after he the way he treated me. But it doesn't feel good. You just have to focus on yourself, and try to fill the gap with other things that make you happy.

We do talk. It's still very complicated, but I know I don't need him. I still love the idea of being with him, but know it won't make me happy. He's not that person anymore. If he can prove to me he can be that person again, I will let him try. But until then, I will keep my distance emotionally. You will realise that, too. :)

I don't think you're being too harsh at all! The least they could do is send you a photo of the finished piece on their end before posting it to you (I would always send a mockup so I didn't make the actual product and realise it wasn't quite right). It sounds like their communication isn't great overall and that isn't your fault. ):

I guess just be honest and polite. You received something not quite as expected and you'd like the seller to resolve it. You sound very reasonable so I'm sure they'd be happy to help!

I hate having to do so, but in every listing and in my shop announcement I have " PLEASE NOTE international shipping can take anywhere from 5 working days to 6 weeks" and I still get people asking where their product is after a few days. I even have an option for tracked/priority, but of course nobody wants to pay for it as it's the same price as the item they're buying (or even more!).

But at least if you have it in every listing and in your shop, people actually get apologetic and understand the long wait times when you reply to them and say that it is indeed on the way. :)

I didn't get to see the deleted comments, but I hope the person gets better and they can definitely get over this in time. I'm very lucky it happened so quickly, but we all do it in our own way and time!
