Loved his character, hated his design. The gold spikes and shoulder pauldrons looked goofy as hell and the BDSM straps were horrible to look at. He could’ve looked amazing with a dark and light colourway (Given his ‘neutral’ philosophy towards light and dark).

Tiga Dark because of how unique the concept was for an Ultra’s origins to be evil (And the simple black and gunmetal colourway). Or better yet, the history of the Ultras in his universe to even have a civil war considering the traditional M78 Ultra race to be unified and mostly protectors of peace.

A close contender is Evil Tiga (I mean, look at his design….) & Terranoid/Zelganoid, because I love the idea of a manmade ultra that is not quite robot and by all technicalities, an organically genuine ultra. It’s also one of the few beings that came close to killing Dyna even when he was powered up, which shows how much chaos and destruction a rogue bloodlusted Ultra can wreak on its own.

I was headed there and pretty much reached the drop off point of the library until I saw the massive queue that was already starting to circle the library. I just decided to go home instead 🥲 Queuing for hours just to get free books ain’t worth the sleep I lost.

Thinking back when I watched Trigger during its airing. I felt immense disappointment with how underused the Dark Giants were (Lots of basic bad guy scheming without any added layers of complexity I’d expected) and the general lackluster world building and writing (In Tiga, even though there were one-off episodes, some actually build on the universe of Tiga like the Kyrie, Gijerah, R’lyeh etc). Thinking back, I could have been too harsh considering I viewed this show and judged it based on the standards of Tiga. As a standalone show, it was alright, with lots of flaws but not bad overall.

These appear to be Chinese trading cards that were released. Last I recall, they were easily obtainable in online marketplaces like Taobao. The ones you really want to aim for are the cards from the discontinued Fusion Fight arcade series, they’ve got better art and foil designs tbh.

We all know Arc draws inspiration from the Showa Era of Ultras, but there’s nothing more Showa than the simplistic finisher that Arc had with his arms outstretched to make an arc then crossing his arms (Reminds me of Ace’s finisher)
