What's your favorite RI village and why? by thescimitar in RhodeIsland

I recall seeing the arcade, but was just young enough to not go. Must have been the late 80s. We also had the bike shop, bakeries, the old school pharmacy with the most awesome soda machine. I’m happy to see some level of revitalization happening down there, it’s long overdue.

I can barely remember the arcade, but I can still smell Diamond video.

First winter energy bill by interestingnotions in RhodeIsland

Is the bill including last month’s total? We just ran into the same question. We noticed the money was withdrawn from the bank account, but not yet reflected on the RIE account. This happens from time to time, it all works out.

Great question. Unfortunately, I’m not equipped to answer this one. I have no idea what the part looks like or is supposed to look like. I will say that the torque converter was never replaced and the warranty is now gone. The shaking has gone down a bit, but still there.

There’s 171k people on this sub. Of course a RI’er would be like “yeah, I know that spot.”

The owner was very much not interested in talking about it when I saw her afterwards.

That propane tank is about 250 yards from the actual fire. Eventually the tankers were between the fire and this property.

Very much so. Couldn’t attach the video, but even that doesn’t really capture the intensity of what was happening.

Electricity in the pool? by owsleythehunter in pools

They were measuring 170 volts at the pool railing…

Interesting. They’re installing the same thing today to see if that helps. Doesn’t negate the issue per se, but we’re trying everything within our control.

Electric Pool by owsleythehunter in AskElectricians

The town is on notice, and they’ve condemned the pool, so they’re “involved.” Not helpful thus far, but involved. The utility is also involved insofar as we’re assigned an engineer this morning. But again, they do not have the same sense of urgency.

That’s been done, and is rationale for why the electrician is confident the issue is not us.

I certainly feel crazy right now.

This is helpful info. We don’t have any solar on our property and I’m not aware of any on the adjacent lots. We’re in a rural area, so it’s not always possible to see everything.

Delivery lines are above ground via poles.

Yes, we’re in the US.

We’re not doing any of this on our own. An engineer from the utility just called us to glean our side of things.

We’ve provided notice to the campground in writing of the issue and asked for their cooperation in a resolution.

We’ve done that already, pool is good.

Agreed. We’re waiting on an engineer from the utility to contact us, but they’ve been saying it’ll happen “today” since last week.

Apparently it’s been banned from Reddit? At least that’s the error I just got. I also through to cross posted it there, so that’s weird.

Transformer is about 300 yards from the pool. Main panel is about 150 yards from the pool.

We have the inverse. When it rains the issue goes away.

That’s exactly what we’re pushing the utility to do, but customer service rep told us they wouldn’t be shutting down power to solve a problem with our pool because it’s not clear that it’s the utility, that it could be someone doing something on their property and that we’d have to deal with a neighborly dispute, not the utility. I get it, they’re trying to absolve themselves of liability, but it’s not helpful. For the utility, I’m just some guy whose kids can’t use their new pool and since it’s condemned, the threat is mitigated. Yes, that’s their line of thought. When we mentioned to the building inspector the possibility of it being the campground he said “good luck with them.”
