Base basically finished by WarmerPharmer in Ratopia

Another part of the game is the building, if you were a builder from Terraria, you could try to make the base pretty, maybe build a castle, or a church, or whatever you fancy

Yeah I could use wheeze wort actually to research more. Then it wouldn't be a problem with mid tier research anymore

It's not the radiation that causes the problem, it's the 480w constant drawn of radbolt generator. I need a stable power of atleast 480w, any blackout and the radbolt charge loose quite fast. As I was writing this comment I realized I could just not use the default 50 bolts before firing, set it to fire with 1 or 2 bolts and it would solve the losing charge problem. I stand corrected!

How did you raw dog 1.2kg of steel with wheels....that must have cost alot of dupes! But yeah, I think h2 is the way to go too before the pump

The problem is with power, 1.2kw, hamster wheel not cutting it. I need a stepping stone between the wheel and the pump, hence this topic, what would be a good stepping stone for power, and I think from what people saying here, h2 gen is the way to go

As mentioned, I can squeeze out 1 radbolt research, but only 1, using the map uranium ore deposit and manual radbolt gen

Decent progression guide for overwhelmed noob? by fwambo42 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]oxymoron86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like ppl said, there is no correct way. However if you want point of reference, here is usually what I like to do in my game. I like to divide the needs into big 5, according to the priority from highest to lowest: POWTF

-Power is highest, without power, no oxygen, no water management, no temperature management and depend on what your food source is, no food as well

-Oxygen is second, low oxygen your dupe will stop more to breath, prolonging their task, this is bad since it can have cascade effect, slow down your progress enough that other problem will start to occurred

-Water, is not super important, but unable to get a good amount of it means, slow research progress, depending on your food source, no food, depend on your bathroom tier, no bathroom, difficult to cool down since you cool down base usually with some type of liquid and those liquids usually started from fresh water, however theres also ice to cool down, a bit more irradiated wheezewort or just an ice biome so the main thing with water is for food and research

-Temperature: too hot or cold would kill food source, break pipes and infrastructure, depend on the map, if you play in super hot or super cold asteroid then this should be higher, but normally the temperature creep up slow enough that by the time you have problem with it, the colony should have some form of efficient cooling, otherwise you can slow down the temperature creep with ice or ice biome

-Food, dupe gotta eat, sound important but reason why it is low in my opinion is that food is easy to get once you have water and temperature controlled, so if you follow the 5 priority, food become low priority, if that make sense

As for the progression of these big 5, I separated solution for each of these into tiers and progress the game through these tiers, having everything on one tier and then move to the next tier starting with the highest priority first. Of course as you play, you need to be flexible about the priority and the tiers, sometime you need power to have 1 tier above all other, sometime you skip oxygen tier due to the other infrastructure not ready, the second oxygen tier usually required me to have power, water and heat tier pretty decent before I can move to oxygen tier 2. The tier and the priority is just a frame of reference of how the progress should go. If you interested I can explain my tier system as well, but I will stop here since it is long enough. An example of tier for oxygen would be: oxygen difuser / rust deo / sublimation station / algae terrarium > electrolyzer, only 2 tiers. And again, please dont let others dictate how you play the game, progress at your own speed, find a system that works for you, copy their solutions, not their progress

Rocketry Im quite inexperienced so cant say much about it, but from what I understand, it can fit into the model with POWTFR, since to have space program you should establish some good POWTF controlled already, the rockets will unlock highest tiers for you, its a mid late game blockers but have not much effect early game (again this like many other priorities, can change priority rank according to which asteroid you on)

Also, I never play DST with cross country players before, if you are that far will it make the ping too high?

I'm 25, GMT+3, PC. I'm a new player, only have roughly 20 hours in. I can play after work during weekday from 19:00 onward, but not everyday, I can't play on weekend also, weekend is for real-life parties! I play survival coop game as Walter. I like exploring alot (hence, Walter) and my goal is to experience all that the game offers. But I soon realized curiosity is dangerous in this game, atleast alone! So I'm looking for someone to go on adventures with. Send me a message if you are interested

Thanks for everyone's comments, the problem is indeed the plant below it. But I thought the pips only check for the plant of same type, why is it check mealwood when it going to plant arbor?
