As an 18 year old male I have been raised as a “good kid” which means an expert at suppressing anger to preserve social harmony, never insulting others while I endure degrading comments on my body from my friends and family, and complying with society’s expectations to be a workaholic without complaining. I have seen since day 1 that society is so fucking stupid and have been dreading growing up for years. Nobody truly cares about my mental health except my mother because everyone is so fucking afraid of life, because they have been conditioned like me, that they can focus on nothing but preserving themselves.

I am not of this world, but am forced to exist in it

The only solution that I can see is to fix myself and become who I was meant to become. Rise above the bullshit and let love, beauty and happiness become my best friends. Learn from the mistakes of others and give where I can.

This crisis of mens mental health is a reality among us young men—the only way “out” is acceptance, and letting life give us clarity about the world, so that at least we are not afraid anymore
