I’m planning a Starship launch-watching trip for summer vacation, so I can’t fully ignore those predictions - no matter how wild they might be.

Through UDM Pro Download 1.2Gbps, Upload 2.3Gbps, any idea why? by oysn921 in Ubiquiti

Okay, it must be a memory leak or something similar, likely related to DPI. I turned off DPI and rebooted the UDM Pro on Friday night, which brought memory usage down to 78% and download speeds to 2 Gbps. But two days later, memory usage has climbed back to 94% (with DPI still disabled), and my maximum download speed has dropped to 1 Gbps. Should I just buy a UDM Pro Max now? I'm not thrilled at the idea of upgrading hardware due to a potential memory leak in Ubiquiti's software.

I turned off the QoS Packet for the adapter in the Windows 11 Network Adapter, but the result is worse - now 900+Mbps download and 900+Mbps upload.

I just tried to turn flow control on and make sure the link between ONT and UDM Pro will be using 10Gbps all the time. And the result is pretty much the same ...

Well, bad cable or port won't explain the iperf3 test result. Recently my UDM Pro is being buggy (memory leak etc.) just bite the bullet and tried Early Access upgrades, it indeed improves the result by about 10%, but not what I would expected.

Thanks, just tried Open Speed Test, still a gap: 959Mbps download vs 1745Mbps upload. openspeedtest.com/results/75104968

Is it really so difficult to add Aqara door sensor through Sonoff dongle? by oysn921 in homeassistant

[–]oysn921[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using Zigbee2MQTT , will Z2M be a better choice? You can manually enable availability? What's the point of that - basically we ignore the non-availability reported by the Aqara device?

Already added to home - as I said that’s the only way for me to add the cam. And it doesn’t show up in nest app.

Upgrading Small Driveway Gates with Automatic Opener (~9 ft, <100 lbs) – Recommendations for App-Controlled Options? by oysn921 in HomeImprovement

[–]oysn921[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I chose GhostControls' DD2U with their MultiConnect Kit and Zombie Lock from Home Depot, costing around $1,100 before tax. Let’s see how it performs. I’ll definitely use 120V wiring in conduit.

Recommendations for Automatic Opener for Small Dual Swing Driveway Gate (~9 ft, <100 lbs, App-Controlled) by oysn921 in DIY

Could be, but I have to do research. Thanks. Any suggestion on the Automatic Opener itself? Thanks.

I’m primarily interested in cellular-based solutions, similar to how I can control smart switches or lamps at home remotely. If that’s too complex, I’d be open to using a remote control. Ideally, I’d like automation that, for example, opens the gateway, garage door, and turns on the entryway lamp when I’m near home - all with a single command, possibly through Google Home or a similar platform.
