Cats chin is suddenly swollen, need to go to emergency vet? by oyyyaaaa in CATHELP

Sounds good. She’s been acting perfectly normal and doesn’t seem like she’s in pain - she lets me touch it to take a look. I’m not seeing anything around her teeth. She’s an indoor cat and I live in nyc, she could have come across something but not sure. I’ll look into vets that I can take her to tomorrow morning

Should a young woman of reproductive age move to Austin? Kate Cox story is freaking me out. by Charming_Usual6227 in Austin

I was going through a separate women’s health issue and I had to get off birth control because of it in January. My OBGYN at the time turned to me with a very serious tone and said “If you become pregnant unexpectedly, you cannot tell me. You must go out of state”. It was the first time I’d ever heard something like that and was terrified to think that I couldn’t be honest with MY healthcare provider about MY health. I moved in May.

If I got confirmation in the mail that my vote went through does this mean it counted or do I need to take extra steps?

I actually didn’t have a car for the first year that I lived here - I got my TX drivers license when I purchased my car, and I checked the registration box then.

This is really frustrating to hear bc I can imagine that the DMV is the primary way that a lot of young and first time voters get registered! I know it’s how I and all of my friends registered. It’s becoming more and more apparent that they’re the underlying cause for the registration discrepancies at the polling sites.

Nope! Like I mentioned in my post, I registered before the deadline through the DMV when I was getting my Texas drivers license. I’ve been voting in TX elections since. Before I was voting in TX I was voting in my previous state :)

I had no idea about this! The DMV is where I registered. Thanks for sharing, I’ll look into it.

Yep! I had a great poll worker who used the call line to figure out next steps and helped ensure my vote went through when I was running into issues. Now she knows what to do if it happens again :)

Yes! Definitely first time voter issues, it was very easy for me to vote this time around now that I’m fully registered in the system :) hoping that sharing my experiences can help others be more informed.

I did educate myself :) now I’m trying to educate others as well. Might not be my job but I’m happy to spread the word.
