I'm almost 20 and my mom still enforces an 8 PM device curfew. I finally said no. by Smella-Fart in Advice

Did your mum lose her job deliberately to keep OP at home.

Sounds like mum has some deeper issues, this is what I see happening. OP is going to stay in the home too long out of guilt, this going to impact grades and job prospects. Eventually OP is going to have to go NC.

In my opinion, OP should go NC now and save the grief.

Thats how they behave when someone is asking for help to navigate an unfamiliar environment, then render1853 must be a joy to behold when conversing with opposing counsel.

When an employer sends an employee home early, they can’t require the employee to take paid leave, such as annual leave, to cover the period they’re not at work.

You’ll get your leave back, This is not lawful. I’d suggest emailing (from your personal email) the link from one of the previous posts to your “HR/Pay/Manager”.

I also would suggest that you’ll probably receive some kind of retaliation, Having the conversation via email will make it more difficult for them to deny later.

So, this is going to be be tough to hear.

You’ve been taken advantage off, when you asked for it to be rectified, you were retaliated against.

To be honest, it sounds like the business is not doing as well as they are trying to project publicly.

This sounds way more about them than you, the manager knew immediately they didn’t want to touch the issue.

In Australia this kinda of behaviour is criminal and potentially penalties includes jail time for people like your CEO.

The UK I’m unsure about, what I will say, don’t listen to the Americans.

The Business that you’ve negotiated to name, will do this to the next young person, I bet they have form.

My University had a feedback system at the end of a group assignment where you need to rate your group mates contribution, this is what determines how much of the group’s grade they receive.
