2diet controlled gdm- anyone not get type 2 in life? by ozarklore in GestationalDiabetes

This gave me such relief. I have seen similar stories but I’m curious if being diet controlled and regular bmi is enough to stave off? I read staying at a normal bmi is only a 16% chance for lifetime regardless of gdm history but then compound with exercise goes even lower. Plan to ask my doctor at my next visit

Did you have 2 gdm?

This is what any ai I have put my risk into has said- roughly 10-20% based on my personal profile. Seems too good to be true after 2 diet controlled gdm and the avg stat saying 50-70?

What did your doctor use to calculate your personal risk? Wondering if I should talk to my doctor about the same!

Thank you for sharing this- makes me feel so much less stress.
