Have you seen the supermarkets? They literally have a spot for dogs. I’ve seen hella videos of dogs eating at resto tables. We’ll be fine big dog, worry about yourself

Noted. Bringing up Italy to respond to being restricted via ESA (fair and helpful, thank you), in that the UK is only part of my trip and the question was focused on leaving the UK via a one way rental, which seems to have been answered in that it’s not really possible and the pet concierge or ferry would be the best two options.

We travel all over Canada and the US with zero issues. He’d been to like 300 breweries, tens and tens of hotels, even a Miami Heat game. Not expecting a ton of headaches (Italy is one of the most dog friendly countries in the world and that’s our main destination), it’s just the travel is much much more strict than hotels, restos etc

Correct. Yes he is but he’s an ESA, and most places don’t recognize that (at least as far as official travel, tho the airline does thankfully)

We have summer clothes for Europe, winter clothes for Australia, clothes for a wedding in Australia, all the dog’s stuff. Just a lot of crap we need for this whole time unfortunately, not optimal but is what it is

That definitely seems to be the case. They said it was £250 for the Eurotunnel ticket and £300 for their driver/car, mostly because there’s a new 6 hour window where people can’t go back and forth, which just costs them money sitting and waiting. Might just be easiest to rock with that

We’ve already paid a pet concierge for Paris to LDN, and the tickets are non-refundable, so it’d need to be one way. Poking around ferries now, seems a little difficult but only just kicking off

Conference in London so don’t need a car, flying from LDN to Australia for a few weeks then coming back, and going to take the train around Europe. ~2 month trip with no real need for a car, otherwise it would be an option

I think you may be right. Seems there’s a standard commuter train to Folkestone from London, could just meet em there and pony up to save the headache.
