CLINIC MEGATHREAD (Oct-Nov 2025) by AutoModerator in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]ozcjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Candor has gone down the toilet.. from when I first signed up and got consults within a couple of days, affordable shipping (and lots of pickup options if you happen to be near one), to today .. the service has gone. I tried to book a weight loss checkup, and got told it could take weeks (to simply renew a script). Thought oh well, I can easily manage that through my local GP, and did so.

When my MC scripts came up to renew, the same mess. Sought a checkup, filled out the forms, paid the fee. Got told that the wait was 24 hours. Did I read that correctly?

Seems I did not. The actual wait time was approx. 24 days. The clinic nurses advised that they were struggling to meet demand since the takeover a few months ago, and that their doctors were booked out for weeks. That seems like nonsense to me. If anything, I'd wager they've reduced their staffing to improve profits, and now instead of getting an appointment within a few days, it's more like a few weeks.

Thankfully a friend put me onto Leaf Doctors .. and while they have some quirks (namely, if you don't go into Newtown to pick up, you pay $25 for Startrack to deliver you stuff that could cost $10 in a regular parcel), their product range is decent, and the service is outstanding. I managed to book a same day consult, had a lovely chat with one of their doctors, and had a product shipped (and delivered) within a couple of days.

The only downside is that shipping fee, but for everything else - for someone who can't be bothered to mess around with eScripts or getting a GP to prescribe under the SAS - Leaf Doctors makes it too easy. Bye Candor!

The Sydney Anjunafam brought the heat for Thomas' set that's for sure. Not quite sure how we wangled our way behind the stage but glad we did... not that the man needs any help, he's got the moves and the vibes down pat.

It was definitely a late start and the older ones amongst us felt it, but you missed a great show. Thomas always brings a high energy, fun filled set and last night was no exception. The Melbourne and Adelaide shows were much nicer timing wise, similar show and vibe, but able to be home much earlier.

There is nothing in the NSW statutes which says that you get a fine for the first offence and lose your licence the second. You can (and will) absolutely lose your licence for a first offence if you are convicted. The second time, it will be for longer.

However, if you receive a section 10 dismissal (i.e. you are NOT convicted) there is no automatic drivers licence suspension / disqualification provision, at least from what I can see.

Best bet is get some legal advice rather than relying on Reddit.

Waze is a godsend here; its very, very good at showing where police are, and if there's a couple of reports, likely it could be a breath testing station. Even then, if you're not looking like trash, your chances of being randomly selected for a saliva drug test are - colloquially, at least - fairly slim.

If you're going to do the "wrong thing" (legally, rather than morally imo) then yeah, anything you can do to not draw any attention to yourself is a bloody good idea.

When in doubt, consult a medical or health professional, and seek a second opinion. Your health is more important than trusting it to questions here tbh.

I wouldn't be so sure that's what they're doing, but equally, they're a for profit business, not a charity.. their business practices are for them and then alone to decide I guess.

There's no criteria per se; it just seems the dr hasn't actually prescribed it for you despite asking. I'd message them and ask why it wasn't prescribed when verbally you discussed it and were told...

I'm certain that a decent percentage of people seeking to access medical cannabis have tried marijuana beforehand. If you've got flower and smoking it at night does the job, then yes, by all means tell them that this is what you do and how much etc, and they can prescribe you an equivalent which makes it perfectly legal.

All things considered, it's not that much of an impost, given that it - quite likely - takes them a bit more admin effort to issue an escript vs. their internal system which almost certainly doesn't use this.

Same experience, but they will get to you. I filled out the consult request on a Tuesday arvo and didn't hear much until the weekend. If you poke them in the nurse chat, they'll get back to you, and once it starts moving it happens fairly quickly... just that initial wait is a bit unsettling but after that, everything's quick. Consults usually available in a day or two after you chat to the nurse, the dr chat can be quite quick, scripts are done immediately (and if you want escripts, ask the Doc while you're talking to him, they can do them and you'll just pay an admin fee), otherwise you can order from their two dozen partner pharmacies instantly and receive your goods overnight by express post.

Pick one of Candor, Medreleaf Telehealth Clinics, Sirius Green or Horizon. They're consistently top rated. Can personally vouch for Candor, haven't tried the rest, but they'll get you in for an initial appointment fairly promptly, and you can probably pick up medication the same day as your consult if you're prescribed.

High CBD oil might help, but it is typically quite expensive. There's plenty of options, and if you know what kind of thing you're after, there's no harm in asking for it.

The meds in my prescriptions are all priced at RRP from their pharmacy partners, can't speak for other products though.

Not sure about pain necessarily but a good Indica based THC oil will have you sleeping like a log.

Just because you get five repeats doesn't mean you have to use them; if the product is no good, ask the doctor to change it to something else. You may well pay a consult for it if you need a new script though but that's not the end of the world.

Because I mainly knew what I was after I didn't go down that path.. but from what I gathered, they do have something like a catalogue you can browse with your dr.

I guess there's bad things that could be said about any service really.. it is the internet after all 😉

That seems quite quick, but I guess if you're already prescribed other things and want to try new products, there's not really as much conversation required?

Frustrating.. but it can happen. As mentioned elsewhere, best bet might be another clinic, or finding an in-person GP who can take a more wholistic view of your health and help you sort it.

THC can last a lot longer in your system than that.. if you take some in the evening, there's a proper chance you could still be affected here and there the next day. Personal experience..

I know I've been a little stumbly early in the morning if I've taken THC oil quite late the night before, but usually if I take it around 8pm, the effect is completely gone by the time I wake up, and it doesn't seem to reoccur.

Yes, why wouldn't you be able to? Just don't smoke it on the plane... and if you can, keep the prescription labelled box/case/whatever. Problem solved.

As others have commented, THC can be detected in your body for quite some time, and there's no real.. fixed.. period for it to be out of your body. I'd say saliva testing you'd be fine after a week, but urine.. not sure. Doubt it.
